Is anyone able to fly into London without OOM?

Featured Replies

I have all Kostas FSX tweak....all that highmem, affinity stuff, LOD, etc...

My AI is 15% on Ultimate Traffic, zero in FSX, antistrophic filtering 16x overrides apps and all sliders to the right except except... autogen which sparse. No other goodies...but REX and FTX Global.

Only experiencing OOM on PMDG NGX and T7, let say out of five flights, two will OOM.

First do a backup and then delete your fsx.cfg, let the FSX create a fresh one. Set your settings (resolution, sliders to the right, etc) and then add these entries

[bufferpools]

poolsize=0

(only if your graphics card is fast enough, has more than 1gb video memory)

[graphics]

highmemfix=1

And take a look at the tml, if it is set at 1024 and not 2048/4096. (some addons may try to set it higher)

and thats it. Lower your aa/af down to 8x (your eyes wont see a big difference). And like you have already found it, only activate the sceneries that you are flying to in the next session

Yaffa,

I have those setup already and I will look into the new cfg and aa/af with down to 8X.

Right now i'm flying real time from KLAX (FSDT) to EDDP (default) using an actual Southern Air Cargo flight from flightaware. So far everything is going well with the B777 as i've added that add-on EZDOK to my setup which enhances my VC features. I love it....

thanks for all your input...bud

You wont get an OOM in EDDP, when you haven't got a scenery at the destination.

O.k., after ...

- deactivating 17 "tiles" of photoscenery (VFR Netherlands, MegaSceneryX, MegaSceneryEarth, and more),

- saving the flight 200 nm out of EGLL, shutting down FSX and firing all up again,

I was able to land at EGLL with 3.8 GB VAS and rather decent graphics (settings).

Remember, Nuno asked about landing the T7 in a full blown FTX England with heaps of UK2000 "extreme" airports and other stuff around ...

For a comparison I did Brisbane (one of ORBX' heavier airports) to Cairns (another one of those) on top of FTX Australia with real weather. Wx in YBBN was really ugly ...

I ended up with 3.2(!) GB VAS and had decent graphics throughout.

So there must be something about those UK2000 'extreme' airports. Their installers have multiple options to manage performance; I usually select the 'extreme' options - might be an explanation ...

Yaffa,

Just landed EDDP and yes...no OOM since it is standard default airport.

Elapsed time...10 hrs and 42 min. real time

I landed YMML with 3.3 GB VAS (FTX AU, ORBX YMML and ORBX YMEN active).

... KLGA with 3.5 GB VAS (with ImagineSim KLGA and DD N.Y.)

EGLL again was 3.8 GB - it's neither about the T7 nor about ORBX ...

Tried my first flight out of EGLL with the PMDG 777 and didn't even make it to the Detling VOR.  With Orbx scenery and Mega Airport Heathrow coupled with REX clouds and UT2 AI this area is off limits with the 777 as far as I am concerned unless major sacrifices are made.....

That's not true John, try that:

1. disable aerosoft EGLL

2. autogen to normal

3. disable any other scenery near by.

4. if you can, buy UK2000 it's a lot easier on frames.

Disable all the scenery and just leave the 2 airports you will be using. With the scenery config editor its just a click and a save. It not that hard guys. Why is it mandatory to keep all those scenery activated if you are 35000ft just to run out of memory. I have all my sliders to the right except autogen which is on dense and scene complexity on very dense.

TML is 1024, my cloud textures are 512 and I'm running 4xAA, 16XAF, vsync on. The only scenery I have activated at all times is UTX (whatever region I'm in) and FTX Global. I just did a flight from orbx Broome to melborne. On landing my VAS was 2.8. When I had everything activated I wasnt able to make it from Charlotte to NYC before that dreaded sound.

I was stubborn like some of you guys and didnt want to deactivated my sceneries but in the end it was well worth. I can do back to back flights without restarting my computer and not running OOM.

If I'm flying the A2A C172 I will have more areas activated because I like to jump around with that small plane.

I have bunch of scenery airports like FSDT, Flightbeam, Imaginesim,FlyTampa, orbx and aerosoft. Left all my setup the way they are since they are optimum tweaked already.

All my flight as i cruise to the final altitude to my destination any where in the World...my VAS is showing 3.100 average.

I've read about disabling all the sceneries except the departure and arrival airport.

I went ahead and disable all my sceneries and my average cruise flight on VAS is showing.... 2.500 average.

Flying KAL from Incheon to Frankfurt real time now and my VAS is averaging to 2.485......

Thanks,

I did a flight yesterday with the T7 from KJFK to EGLL. Have both FSDT KJFK V2 and EGLL UK2000. Not one hick up!!!

Landed at EDDF (by Aerosoft) with no OOM, total flight time 10 hrs and 21 min.

After taxiing to the Cargo gate, FSX VAS is showing 3.200 before exiting and ending my FSX session.

FYI: Unable to do ILS capture on RWY25L, is there an issue or update ILS freq for EDDF Aerosoft using PMDG?

good flight....

You need the latest patches from the Aerosoft Updates database:

http://support.aerosoft.com/support.php?language=en&osCsid=3bfdbc6898c35688ea3500c0f1d8c066

They will patch the Northern runway into the (initial release) version. The PMDG navdata is current, so you need a current EDDF as well to avoid runway and ILS freq confusion ...    B)
