September 17, 201312 yr Trying to decide between these two glass cockpit jets; can anyone tell me their experience…if they would recommend or not…known issues, heavey on FPS etc.?
September 17, 201312 yr I enjoyed the Flight1 Mustang, but it no longer works since my migration to P3D. I too have been eyeing the Phenom so I could have a "jet" in my hanger, so am interested in what others with experience think! September 17, 201312 yr The P100 isn't hard on frame rates. Little issues, the automatic beacon would rotate with both engines shut down. It definitely is a lite plane in systems... and so is the Garmin rendition. The documentation could be more extensive. Rather aged now and frequently on sale ... everywhere: PcAviator, Feelthere themselves, Justflight. Wait for a 30% discount offer. What happened to AVSIM
September 17, 201312 yr The Mustang is obviously far superior, but it is hard on fps. If you have a newer sandy bridge and so on CPU/system you'll be fine. Just manage your settings when it comes to payware scenery and sliders etc. Mustang hand flies very well, great G1000 sim with navigraph updatable database (WAAS for USA only usually comes from F1 once in a while). Systems-wise not PMDG style but much better than lite. Most knobs and switches work. All around solid little plane. Only to be smoked by,,,,, Their new King Air!! The G1000 is much much better, a few more things simulated, FAR better on fps. The King air is honestly as fast as the Mustang in certain situations (if you push the KA engines). The KA has additional features like maintenance/failure stuff, more systems modeled etc that make better than the Mustang. I know you're thinking "but I want a little jet." The King Air (with Blackhawk aftermarket engine mods) is basically as fast (or faster) as those new VLJ's. If you're really looking for speed (in a turbojet model) you need to look at Xtreme Protypes' Lear 20 series, and or Eaglesoft's Citation (ver2) line. p.s. Looks like the phenom is faster than the Mustang (and KA), but not by much... maybe a mile per minute faster in the high 20-something FL's. There's also an excellent Piaggio in the file libraries (dated cockpit but excellent everything else)... 400 KTAS!! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 17, 201312 yr I run the f1 mustang on a fairly mid-high range system with no problems. It's a complete G1000 simulation minus one or two sim-irrelevant pages. In 2D/spot modes I get a consistent 25-30fps, with the VC inducing a performance hit dropping it to 15-20fps (no stuttering on my end). Soundwise it's ok and FDM is very responsive to control inputs/trim, flying very close to cessna's published numbers (from an actual C510 manual that I own) in performance. Note: regarding my system performance - I do not run my sim with all graphics settings at max as I'm one who prefers a smooth running (and stable, OOM-free) simulation. Nor do I run any graphics enhancement addons with my sim setup either - just a weather engine (FSGRW). --Xavier "If lightning is the anger of the gods, the gods are concerned mostly with trees." -- Lao Tse (6th Century BCE)
September 18, 201312 yr Thanks to all for your feedback... @Taz....wow, I did not know that. I will definitely wait for Carenado's version. I have their SR22 and that is all I have flown in the past 4 months. @ryanbatcund...see now you are going to make me spend another day researching the King Air...thanks for suggesting it. I think that may hold me over.
September 18, 201312 yr +1 for the King Air B200. There's just something about it that keeps me going back to it, even with the 172 and 777 out. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
