September 20, 201312 yr I've searched the issues thread, and the forum but haven't seen an answer. Occasionally I, due to my joystick's oversealous mapping of the brake key, have overheated (brakes) and deflated (tires). Understandable. However, no matter what I do via the PMDG Setup menus I cannot reset these failures. "Clear all", Maintenance, none of these affect the brake temps; I can see the tires repressurize, but they deflate immediately. Did I miss something in these steps? I understood these menus to be the mechanisms for resetting failures, maintenance, etc.... ??? I'm sure it's user error, but I'm lost so far  Dan Dominik "I thought you said your dog does not bite.... That's not my dog."
September 20, 201312 yr Not a pc at the moment, but I think you need to look under FS Actions in the FMC and there's a section called Ground Maintenance, there's options in there to reset things I believe. Tony Simpson FLYING FROM EGKK, The worlds busiest single runway Airport.
September 20, 201312 yr Had a quick look at the docs when I got it. Is the detailed description if the wheels and brakes simulation in the intro section? Am away from my machine for the next two weeks. Sent from my Mobile thing Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
September 20, 201312 yr You have to cool the brakes before you replace the tires, I believe it's under "maintenance". Steve Caffey
September 20, 201312 yr Author Thanks guys, will look into this when back at my sim. I've been going through the maintenance modes and selecting "repair brakes", then the same with the tires. Sounds like I've been repeatedly swapping in nice new tires while the brakes are still red hot, then wondering why the fuse plugs keep popping... Hopefully I've overlooked cooling the brakes themselves. Will report in with results! On a related note, anyone have a suggestion for how to use a joystick button to apply brakes without locking them up? I've been tapping the button but often run out of rollout room using that method. I have no pedals, and the heavy handed inputs from the mapped button is eating my tire budget. September 20, 201312 yr Commercial Member I've been tapping the button but often run out of rollout room using that method. Adjust the "repeat" function of the joystick key assignment. On the far left, it means it'll only command the function once and then release. Middle and right just repeat with increasing frequency. I think mine's in the middle. Kyle Rodgers
September 20, 201312 yr Autobrakes? Then start tapping the brakes on the keyboard? That's what I was doing before I got pedals. Not sure if that's what you're currently doing, or if you're just using the keyboard from touchdown all the way through rollout. EDIT: Yeah, you can disregard that. Sorry. I'm tired.
