September 20, 201312 yr Couple of quick questions regarding the new fix As I've been running dx10 for a while and have already tweaked a fair bit I have a question regarding the dx10 AA option on the controller I have set my AA settings in the NVidia inspector to 4xS [Combined: 1x2 SS + 2x MS (D3D only)] should I set it to 4x or do I leave it blank ? and one final thing so far is my rain shader is grayed out but I don't think I updated the rain previously whats the best option to do here to ungray it? thanks p.s Anyone that had white runway at LPMA using aerosoft Madeira this has fixed it Pete Little
September 20, 201312 yr Hi Jim! The AA settings - I would backup the NI .nip to the Profiles folder (if you don't have one, just create one under the Nvidia folder), and then change the settings. Test fly one against the other and then use whichever you find best. That's all I ever do. If the Rain Shader is greyed out - it means that it was already installed by the older patches. If you want to fix that - just delete the ShadersHLSL folder completely, and put back the original, backed-up copy, then re-run the DX10 Controller. If you don't have the default folder - you can get it here. September 20, 201312 yr I was just about to ask the same question. I have NI set to 8S Combined. I guess I need to do some experimenting. Mark CYYZ
September 20, 201312 yr I think I read int he how to doc that one should set aa to application controlled in the inspector and tick aa in fsx ? I also added multisamplesperpixel=4 ans multisample quality= 8 into the fsx.cfg under [graphics]. Am I missing something ? Thanks
September 20, 201312 yr Author Thanks Paul Will give it a go P.s It's Pete not jim by the way rgds Pete Little
September 20, 201312 yr Nope! AA MUST be set to application-controlled, in NI and then AA ticked inside FSX, MyourB. No change there, but when you select a prticular AA in the Fixer opening setup screen - it will automatically add the two lines (which govern the AA) into the current fsx.cfg for you. \ After that you would just need to match the MSPP setting into Inspector, so that (for e.g.) :- M ult iSa mplesPerPixel =4 // Must have for good AA. Using 8 is a huge perfomance killer for very small improvement. The AF setting (Trilinear or Aniso) is up to you, as is the NI setting for AF, but 16x is a 'must' for DX9 and 10. OK! Nice to see you having a go it DX10! September 20, 201312 yr After that you would just need to match the MSPP setting into Inspector, So If I have mspp =4 in fsx.cfg how do I match it into the inspector ? I would have to pick x4 sparse grid supersampling ? What about MSquality 8 Thanks
September 20, 201312 yr Thanks Paul Will give it a go P.s It's Pete not jim by the way rgds  yeah, ok, sorry, Pete. Honestly - there are a (growing) number of folks who "stick" in my (tiny) brain, but you and JimH are both from Scotland, with Jim being a bit further west, and I've rattled on with both of you on more than a few occasions, a couple of times 'Teamviewer-ing' with Jim. No excuses: it's just been pretty hectic here over the last 24 hours...... strange, eh? So If I have mspp =4 in fsx.cfg how do I match it into the inspector ? September 20, 201312 yr Author No worries Paul I guess it must have been I've just to try tweaking the AA settings now in dx 10 controller I had it ok before it came out as I already had the 2 lines in the fsx.cfg Out of curiosity does this now render a lot of the NVidia inspector redundant rgds Pete Little
September 20, 201312 yr No - no change, Pete, just your fingers get a bit of extra rest time..... i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
September 20, 201312 yr I am experiencing major blurries in my ground textures. I have AA set to 8 from within Steve's fixer program and AF set to 16 in nvidia inspector. I did not experience this in DX9. Any ideas? Best regards, Alexander Rietveld
September 20, 201312 yr Some nice screenshots would be great Paul - fixer - NI and FSX this would help a lot of people as your other postings are old now that fixer is out, thanks Rich Sennett

Last (maybe not least!) - would you pop your system hardware into your profile, so that it appears under your Avatar. It's almost impossible to give any kind of educated answer without those three items! Many Thanks, pj i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
September 20, 201312 yr Hi Paul, Thanks for your response, will post the requested info tomorrow. Best regards, Alexander Rietveld

In the attachment you can find my fsx.cfg. Please see below for the two nVidia shots. I might need to add that I am mostly flying the heavy aircraft, PMDG 737 and 777, into complex airport sceneries. Thanks for your help! Best regards, Alexander Rietveld
