Bloom my way 25% fps improvement?

Featured Replies

I've tried 1364 but when using Fraps to record video I would get a big hit in FPS (almost 50%).  At 680, I loose less than 5% fps and FSX seems to run well.  But honestly, it's just a case of trial and error ... I'd recommend folks go with whatever works for them as there are so many variables to how Affinity will work such as OS version, to BIOS, to CPU model, HT ON, HT OFF, etc. ... I honestly don't want to get involved in what Affinity settings "should be".

Hi Rob,

understand now but it's really weird that this works for you better than 1364. The binary mask for 680 is 001010101000 and it means that you switched on the hyperthreads and deactivate the real core. Maybe FSX interpret this different? Do you have HT activated in the BIOS or not?

Capturing videos may also better now for you using nVidia's ShadowPlay.

It should be possible with your GPU.

No Aamir, why would you do that?

Okay, I'm gonna try your way of doing it. I'll report back in a bit.

Yes HT active ... but think I've tried many many combinations with and without HT.

That looks very interesting, I'll keep an eye on how that develops, thank you sir.

Oh, two Rob's present in this thread ... if it's me, then I'm pretty sure I tried those setting and didn't notice any difference

No Rob, Cap'n peej meant me, I am the trouble maker.  You are doing just fine, keep up the good work.

Sorry for hijacking this topic, but I see people mention v1.1. Yesterday I re-downloaded from flightsim store and got version 1.0, built 24.

Where can I find 1.1?

Look at the DX10 controller menue, click "Help" and "About...".

You should see the Version number V1.1, Build 24
