Should I stay or should I fly? (Wondering about Black Friday Sales)

Featured Replies

So I've been waiting a long time to get the 777. I was fortunate to have won this fine aircraft but there were some complications and I am going to go ahead and purchase it soon... now I am wondering if I should wait for Black Friday? I have waited this long... I can wait a little longer for a nice deal but I am also very eager to fly with my friends, who have already gotten this birdy. Do you guys think there might be a nice sale on Black Friday from PMDG, that I should wait or should I go fly now? Please don't say buy now because it's so goooood... I've heard how good it is. It's not cheap and Christmas is coming. ;-)

Thanks for the input!

I would say that this close from release, there will not be a sale- but who knows.

It's well worth the $90 - €60ish

Yes I agree on that... I just got to watch my spending, especially with a multiple personal events coming up this year. ;-) That's why I am wondering.

I don't recall PMDG ever having a sale.  They've had intro pricing for the original 744 converts to the 744X, and combo pricing for the MD-11 versions (FS9 with FSX), and they occasionally drop the price of older add-ons as they sunset.

None of those are what I'd call a sale, though.

So, to the OP, I wouldn't count on it.

Okay thanks guys for the replies, the answer is clear for me now. The chance of a price reduction on Black Friday are slim or none.

Can't say I have ever known PMDG to have a sale so I would not count on that roll of the dice. If you need to watch your money because of priorities of life then I would say keep the money until it is disposable.

When it is disposable however...go for it. It is a fine model indeed.

The only time you get a PMDG bird on sale is by buying a DVD/BOXED version from a retailer, when the said retailer has a sale (Aerosoft, J&R.com and so on).

The box release is usually not live until a long while after the original was released from the source here at PMDG.
