Orbx RV-4

Featured Replies

I didn't know they were doing one (or I forgot hehe)

Looks pretty decent, but modeling seems about the same as the older Lancair IVP.  The avionics do look real nice though.  If the price is right I'll probably get it.  I wonder how this would compare to Vertigo studios' RV8?

While I have to say I quite like their Lancair as an addition to the Realair one, this plane does not look too good to me. I think this is not up to other developers' standard (not even their own, whe you take their sceneries into account!) in regards of the visual quality. But as those shots are still WIP, there is the chance of improving the model.

Definitely one to miss for me (based on the Orbx Lanceair, a major under achiever IMHO).

In all honesty, I appreciate it's not finished, but at present this model looks like freeware standard:-

Their Lancair I like, fly it occasionally. I'm afraid this one leaves me cold.

Thanks for the HU Ryan.  I'm not a fan of their Lancair, never really liked its flight characteristics, its been in the hanger for over a year and I haven't taken the dust cover off.  I have so many good flyable planes, with a wide range in type that I find now that I really don't need anymore planes....but that's just me.

Yeah sorta my thoughts as well.  Maybe it's just the AA settings on the screenshot person's PC... I'm not sure.

I have too many beautiful planes. I can't stop flying the Duke V2. I will not be buying another plane for a while.

Seems like he's shooting for some very detailed and unique gauges. I agree with some of the impressions regarding the screenshots. Something currently seems to render them less 'wow'. Just subjectively. Maybe we've already seen too many good models.

But I still am a great fan of his work on the Lancair, so I guess that new plane will receive a place in my to get list. B)
