November 1, 201312 yr I have seen a lot of repaints for Manfred Jahn's C-47 Version 2 for FSX. For the life of me, I have searched and searched for the original plane, version 2 model and I can't seem to find it. Can someone please help me by either providing a download filename or location/link of where I find this plane? There seems to be a lot of repaints for this plane which look really good.

I downloaded and installed all of this and it worked beautifully with one exception: I can't seem to turn on the GNS530?
November 1, 201312 yr You're most welcome. The GNS 530 is the Simflyers freeware version. There's a power switch (small knob) on the top left - if you click it, it powers on. Make sure the avionics switch is on first, of course. If that doesn't work, you may have a problem with the install. Overall, nice piece of work, to put it mildly. Same for you? November 2, 201312 yr Is the model exclusively found at sim outhouse? No matter what I do I can't register there - and there has been no answer from the Admins either through the "Contact Us" button or the direct mail address provided on their page for the last four days... Cheers Mallard

Cheers Mallard I occasionally have trouble doing various functions with MS IE8. When I use Mozilla Firefox, the problems seem to go away. You might try a different browser. Good Luck.
November 2, 201312 yr You might try a different browser. Good Luck. Sorry - I didn't make myself clear. I can't register at all. The forum says I'm a spammer when I try to register - although I tried using mail addresses from Germany's two largest commercial mail providers where I have accounts... (and funnily enough one of these addresses was accepted without problems at sim-outhouse.net - but that doesn't help me any further) The SOH Admins simply aren't answering my attempts at contact. Four days of complete and utter silence. Cheers Mallard

November 2, 201312 yr Firefox, Chrome and IE. No luck. The plane really is nowhere else on the entire net? Cheers Mallard
November 2, 201312 yr I had the same problem with SOH couldn't register and couldn't get a response from the admin. must be some kind of exclusive club. Is there really any difference between V1 and V2?
November 2, 201312 yr Guys, I posted on the main C-47 thread at Sim Outhouse with a link to this one, to let the admins and developers know that there are a couple of potential C-47 pilots who can't get through the lines to download. With luck one of them will see it and be able to track you down here and get things figured out. I'll keep an eye on both threads and keep trying to get you together with the files. Hope it works out. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
November 2, 201312 yr I just installed this aircraft along with the sound pack and the base files. Unfortunately I can only seem to get the main aircraft and the clean VC to show up, all of the other textures in the base pack do not show. Also, I have no idea how to switch over to the weathered VC. A few more issues: 1) I cannot get the engines started, even with battery in green (24 volts). 2) Is the VC authentic, it seems way too new to me but perhaps it is just an upgraded version of the aircraft. November 2, 201312 yr A few more issues:1) I cannot get the engines started, even with battery in green (24 volts). I had the same problem. Go here for the fix. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?82973-C-47-from-Manfred-Jahn-and-team/page8. Start at the bottom of page 8 and finish on page 9. This solution worked for me, maybe it will work for you. Alan
November 2, 201312 yr I just installed this aircraft along with the sound pack and the base files. Unfortunately I can only seem to get the main aircraft and the clean VC to show up... In the aircraft.cfg, the main aircraft is listed as "createdby=Manfred Jahn". The cfg entries for the other textures have that line blank. So they won't show up under the publisher entry for Manfred Jahn, they'll show up under "other." You can either look for them there or (easier) copy "Manfred Jahn" to the "createdby=" entries and they'll all show up in one place. This was also a problem with some of the Basler repaints - not all the repainters are consistent about how they write the cfg entries. Re: the VC, I'm not sure about this but I think the weathered VCs show up for specific paints - I loaded the Air Force SAR aircraft and got the weathered one. I'm sure it's also switchable but I don't yet know how. Re: the VC itself, what's provided is a modern version based on the Basler VC. It's included as sort of a stopgap, though it would be current for a modernized aircraft (with the exception that there's no VC switch for the cowl flaps). I believe other VCs are in the works - a modern one that will include the cowl flap switch and a vintage one as well. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
November 2, 201312 yr Guys, I posted on the main C-47 thread at Sim Outhouse with a link to this one, Really appreciate that, Alan! Thanks a lot - I have V1 of this fine plane, but what with (for example) Jankees' great paints I really would like to give V2 a try. Cheers Mallard
