  • The topic could also have contained images or a video that were not appropriate to the original forum it was posted in.
  • The images might not have been "illustrative" or "explanatory" in nature.
  • The topic could have been moved because we deemed it to be more appropriately placed elsewhere.

Anyone else get an error after purchasing MSE Portugal?

I recall seeing something like this when I downloaded MSE V2 USA.  Just think it must be a temporary glitch.  Maybe PC Aviator can help as he frequents the Photoscenery forum quite often.

Best regards,

Jim

I think my wife is more excited about this scenery than I ... it's her home land ... who knows, maybe she'll even do some virtual flying once they get the link sorted out.  MSE screen shots look fantastic.

I believe my glider base of operations, at Ponte de Sôr aerodrome, is there too :-)

Unfortunatelly I am no longer on FSX - Just X-Plane 10 now :-)

Maybe Spain annexed Portugal and it no longer exists?

I am on the fence still for buying any MegaEarth stuff.   I can live with there being no seasonal changes but lack of night textures has me unable to make the plunge.   What I wanted to ask also for MegaEarth users, do all the inland water spots get treated over with MegaScenery textures?   I tried out the DFW MegasSenery and it was good but I lost all my water animations and colors.   Is that the case?  Do you lose all animations with MegaScenery?   Hate to see all my really pretty REX water textures and wave animations get eliminated.

I fly primarily tube liners up past FL300.  Is this the thing for me?   I don't care that the autogen gets stripped, thought does make airports look really lonely on the ground without trees or anything around it.    Can other products be used on top of MegaScenery, such as UTX for roads and night lighting?

I thought there were XP10-64 tools to convert FSX scenery over?  FS2XPlane?  http://marginal.org.uk/x-planescenery/tools.html

I haven't tried this myself, but in further reading there does appear to be some issues with FS2XPlane.  Is it true Xplane objects can only use one texture?

Some do, some don't ... it varies.

No.

No idea, try one and see ... but I'm curious, what scenery details are you expecting to see at FL300 at night?

I recently added FTX for those area's I don't have scenery, it does look good day or night or seasons, but it's not real world ... so if one is familiar with the real world area, you aren't going to be able to spot places you know and/or have visited - if that matters to you.  This is where XP10's AutoGen and night are better IMHO.

I don't know about the X-Plane 10  limit on textures per object, but I am using photo scenery around the areas where I fly for real, and it looks great, day&night :-)

There's a freeware Portuguese photo scenery in progress with animated water and night textures being sold by the incredible sum of $0. It's taking long because it's a project with 3 guys behind it, but it's progressing, it's free, and it'll be fully-featured (also including some autogen and landmarks).

I can't believe they're seliing this for $40.

Any more details on that project?

Fixed, downloaded and installed.  Good to go.

"PT Scenery Project" on Facebook. There might be a simple page later for download links as Facebook isn't really good for that.

Here's a sample from today 'Alqueva' dam by night.
