November 9, 201312 yr I have too many CTDs after a long flight when arriving to an airport... I want to test to see ifs not RAAS thats giving me grief. How can I disable RAAS completely from the 777? I want to fly without RAAS for a while to make sure its not RAAS that is causing these CTDs. Any ideas? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 9, 201312 yr In FMS, Aircraft equipment. CTD on arriving is a typical OOM. Guess you did not read the manual? Zicheng Cai
November 9, 201312 yr Author Thanks guys appreciate it. I'll see if this helps avoiding CTDs on arrival. Another way.Don't forget to hit save. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 9, 201312 yr Author Another way. Don't forget to hit save. OK I did this and now I am unable to load the 777. The Yoke on the VC is an odd position and the MCP is on, but noen of the displays are on. I tried doing the cold start ...but nothing works.. Its like as though I have an unregistered 777. I rebooted and everything...no go.. I do not see the green bar with the count down saying "initialization". Its basically not doing the initialization thing. However when I load a previously saved flight, I see the initialization thingi and the aircraft looks good. Not sure what I broke. Sheesh! Do I have reinstall everything including my liveries? November 9, 201312 yr Author try 777 repair, that will keep your liveries Repair did not help. Hmm....I am just unable to load 777 from the initial setup, BTW the repair installed a new aircraft.cfg overwriting all the livery. Luckily I had the old one saved... Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member Not sure what I broke. Is the 777 your default aircraft/flight in Flight Sim? Kyle Rodgers
November 9, 201312 yr Author Is the 777 your default aircraft/flight in Flight Sim? Hi Kyle.. Oh no..the default is the fsx default.. I generally don't mess with those things. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 10, 201312 yr Commercial Member Hi Kyle.. Oh no..the default is the fsx default.. I generally don't mess with those things. Hmm...have you followed some sort of tweaking guide that told you to disable windows services? Kyle Rodgers
November 10, 201312 yr Author mm...have you followed some sort of tweaking guide that told you to disable windows services? No..not really Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 10, 201312 yr Commercial Member No..not really Is that a no, or a not really? 'No' means 'no.' "Not really" means you may have changed some windows services. If one of those was FlexNET, it can cause problems like the ones you are seeing. To be honest, CTDs on final are probably more related out of memory issues. Try using ProcessExplorer (google it - it's a small download from MS directly at the the top of the search results) to check your VAS use. Also, ensure you have admin rights to the folders and are running the OpsCenter and FSX as admin. Kyle Rodgers
November 10, 201312 yr Author Is that a no, or a not really? Thats a No. Usually if its OOM, I get an OOM error message... in these case it just hangs...and I have to kill fsx. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 10, 201312 yr I disabled RAAS completely by removing it from the FSX dll.xml on launch. It was causing my EZDok to not work at all (for whatever reason). I haven't ran into either of the issues you have, though. May be best to uninstall and then re-install the 777 completely and only change the RAAS setting in the Ops Center and see if the issue persists. If it does I'd open a Support ticket with PMDG.
November 10, 201312 yr Commercial Member For what it's worth, RAAS is an FS2Crew product, so you might want to try asking over there about those EZDok issues. That honestly makes zero sense at all, seeing that Froogle uses both just fine, and I've used it with no issues. Sounds more like an end-user misconfig to me. Kyle Rodgers
