Hello fellow simmers

Featured Replies

Since the P3D have filed for me in terms of performance, not being to far from FSX I've decided to go XP10, I was amazed about the graphics on my PC and how fluent it is with sliders almost to the right, I'm so pleased, no tweaking, just fire up the sim and enjoy the ride.

X-plane you've just one a new suporter!!

My questions, what 3'rd party addons for XP10 and what good free addons that could change the look and functionality, weather programs, like active sky, clouds, what planes exist with FMC only (I'm aware of 777 and 757), any freeware airports (EU)?

Thank you, I ask this question because I never touched XP in my life, this is the first time, I have to get use to it, did I mentioned it has so ugly menu!!!

There's a nice A320 NEO. Google will schow you the way. For scenery I like to perform a Google search like "X Plane scenery ENGM". You will discover a lot of download locations, some need you to register. Bookmark them all and soon you have some interesting sites to visit. Welcome to the X Club.

Welcome, it's a good time to come aboard. A lot of new amazing addons have come out recently that have really raised the bar for X-Plane. I now spend very little time in FSX, and I'm not too impressed with P3D v2.0 either, although I still have it installed.

For me the best addons are:

1) Skymaxx Pro (Definitely buy this one for realistic skies)

2) LES Saab 340a/jRollon CRJ200 and anything Carenado.

3) The new mesh scenery from alpilotx

4) All scenery on simheaven.com (If you're into flying in Europe, plus it's free)

I've hard the 757 is also really good, but don't own that yet. I'm really looking forward to the ixeg 737 classic coming out.

Plus, there is a huge library of free airports, plugins available at x-plane.org or x-pilot.com. Normally you can find what you need quite easily by googling.

Skymaxx Pro is not a weather engine, does someone announce to produce a weather engine for X-plane??

Be cautious about how you tread around the forums at the .org especially if your making comparison or references to MSFS. They have a popensity for being harsh in that regard especially to newcomers which can leave one bitter about the whole XP genre. I have been here for awhile  I don't post too much, never had any issues but got insulted and banned there in less than six months for nothing more than my opinion; because it didn't coincide with .org managment.  I came extreemly close to uninstalling the program and never looking back and I'd hate to see you have the same experience.

Tread lightly there  that's all I'll say about that.

FlyJSim makes a Q400 and B727 that are nice and I use the JR's CRJ200 regularly along with a lot of the Carenado GA line up, of which the C377 Skymaster and Grand Caravan are two of my favorites.

No worries my friend, I don't use their forum, only their downloads.

I'm thinking of buying 777 and 757 and a320neo, I only fly tubliners no GA, and I only want planes with FMC!

The 757 is a good choice, I own it and it's probably the best aircraft add-on availaible at the moment in X-Plane 10. For scenery, http://www.xpscenery.net/ is a nice place to find scenery. I recommend a free add-on, HDR Environment X II, that will change how the sky and the clouds will looks in X-Plane.

A question...

Is possible to install only a part of the scenery of XP10? For example only Europe? Now I'm only interested in XP for flying helicopters...

During the initial phase of the installation, you will be prompted to select the areas you wish to install, just click and drag mouse over Europe. That's it!

If you decide to add more areas later on, then just run the installer again.
