November 27, 201312 yr From the Pilot's website: Version 1.8 will be a major update for FS Global Real Weather containing the following changes: Support for Prepar3D V2.0 Completely new server infrastructure where the weather file frequency will be doubled (new weather files every 7.5 minutes) and much more space is available to have more historic weather. Completely new data exchange format (xml based) which will have additional information available for third-party developers (old data formats will be continued). Terrain induced turbulence for all weather stations in our database. This will create local weather effects (wind, turbulence, wind shear) induced by mountains automatically and will replace all manually created local weather effects so far. However, manually created local weather effects will continue where other factors have to be considered (i.e. building induced turbulence). Support for boxed versions. Currently estimated for January 2014.Stay tuned for more information!Important: Users will have to upgrade to Version 1.8 once it is released, because older versions will not be compatible with our new server infrastructure. The update is free and will be shipped via the automatic update function. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

November 27, 201312 yr January is a long time to wait, when Opus weather was ready for v2 on the day of P3D2 release. Oh, and I don't know if you guys saw the past para there, but you're going to have to pay for this upgrade too. Just saying  .... feel free to hit those thumbs down buttons, FSGRW users!

November 27, 201312 yr FSGRW is a great little easy to use program. I get everything I need WX wise with it. It's accurate and includes turbulence in a realistic way. I will continue to support the developer and give it 2 thumbs up. Oh and I can't believe I almost forgot to mention no wind shifts and the local wx effects, idk but to me It's a winner! And the upgrade is gonna be free Reik Namreg
November 27, 201312 yr Author I'm hooked on FSGRW. Superb usability, super quick weather download and it supports FS9+FSX+P3D and soon P3Dv2. Lovely all in one package with small footprint. Just my kind of tool, but I know some of you folks like it more complex with lots of setting and menus to play with. And yes, the upgrade is FREE! It continues to insist that there is only 5 miles of visibility even when there should be 30.

November 27, 201312 yr I know its always a matter of personal opinion and/or preference but for me, FSGRW is the weather engine that causes FSX to display the best looking weather. And Dave, the upcoming update is FREE. " . . . The update is free and will be shipped via the automatic update function."
