November 28, 201312 yr Hello All, I was wondering if anyone is, knows of, or is planning on working on an update for FSDT KORD. Just a simple AFCAD update for the new runways and taxiways. It would be amazing if someone would do this (I don't have these skills myself). FSDT has already said they will NOT be doing an AFCAD update for KORD on FS9. Thanks in advance! gmcg
November 29, 201312 yr Any aditional runways/taxiways needs work on the scenery itself not just the AFCAD. What do you mean by "simple AFCAD update" ? Peter Schluter
November 29, 201312 yr I guess the airport contains a ground photo with several layers, so it would be extremely hard to insert new runway and taxiways if you do not have source file. November 29, 201312 yr Author I'm not sure.... I don't know what it takes. I'm just repeating what I was told over on their forums. Someone said it was a simple afcad update. I just wish they would still support it. Not a full update, just add the new runways and taxiways. I'd pay for it too. That is why I turned to Avsim. Thanks!
November 30, 201312 yr I don't think you can update commercial scenery and distribute the "mod" as that would be EULA busting. So, getting a update from anyone at AVSIM will be next to impossible (at least I hope that's the case!). Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! November 30, 201312 yr Author I don't think that is the case. I've seen mods for imaginesim and flytampa (amongst others) pop up on here. Plus I got the vibe that they don't care if you update it since they don't support it anymore. Maybe not..... either way, I'm still holding out hope.
December 1, 201312 yr (I don't have these skills myself). I hope not to be offensive, gmcg, but if you can handle Power Point, you're one tutorial away from handling AFCAD fine. First, backup the original AFCAD and then start editing. December 1, 201312 yr Author None taken..... and you're correct, teach a man to fish. It might come to that as well. I just didn't want to screw anything up totally.
December 1, 201312 yr Plus I got the vibe that they don't care if you update it since they don't support it anymore. Since when is FSDT not supporting ORD anymore? Umberto knows ORD needs a v3 update and last I heard they were re-evaluating airports for updates after KIAH is released.
December 1, 201312 yr Umberto has made it very clear that FSDT is done with FS9. I'm reasonably certain that there will be no updates of any kind for the FS9 products. Pity, would be nice if they would keep up with what they have produced for FS9, but I know thats not how this biz works.....Ahh well. Regards, Joe Esposito
