Orbix AU SP4, worth it if already have Global?

Featured Replies

I see the price of this product on download is drastically reduced.  Just wondered if its worth getting?  As I already have Global installed, will it make a visible difference or is it showing its age now?

From what I read its the whole of Australia upgraded?

Any feedback appreciated

Cheers

Steve

With the sale on AUSP04 at FSS and installing Holgar mesh from the Orbx site . Oz would look quite a bit better than just having global textures . Plus add on all of the OZx and Ant's freeware airports and you could spend a lifetime just flying in

Oz .

FTX Global provides textures and autogen. See here for what the complete regions offer.

I don't have FTX-G (yet) only AU SP4 for about 1.5 year. The latter adds not only textures but also some landclasses, a mesh and (I suppose) some vector data that FTX-G doesn't provide. It makes a lot of difference IMHO. So, in a nutshell, yes it is worth it and as previously mentionned, there' a treasure trove of freeware small airports and bush strips from OrbX and OzX going along with it. The new FTX-G lights also work in AU SP4. Now, you got to remember that it is an old product, not as polished as the North America sceneries. Personally I love it.

I just bought Orbx NMR, PNW, and CRM for about $13 each.

Only tried CRM so far, and boy is it amazing!!!!

The problem with all Orbx scenery is the lack of quality major airports.

Still no YSSY. Wish YMML had better frames. There are a few others like YPPH. If the major airports were done by someone it would make AU perfect, but it isn't a surprise when there are still no SEA or PDX for the Orbx PNW scenery.

Flytampa are doing YSSY for FSX and my guess P3D as well...

There have been a couple of larger airport releases for Oz, the only OrbX one I removed was Brisbane, as I just did not like the performance I was getting there. There are a few pay and free addons though. Just search...
