December 7, 201312 yr Moderator Wow! Many thanks for all the advice. What a great forum! The last thing I need to do is spend time tweaking, this isn't a hobby for me but a necessity for training ATPL students! I'm hugely relieved to hear that most of you think P3D is ready for the job! In that case, P3Dv2 is your only viable option, as FSX is simply not licensed to be used for real world training scenarios. Fr. December 7, 201312 yr I am still in the front ranks, and really winning the battle. In fact enjoying the fights (flights) rather than sitting on the side / back lines waiting to see which way the tide turns! Advance, forward! Rob I'm definitely waiting for the tide to turn My goal with flight simulation is to fly in the most realistic way possible with a minimum of (hopefully)short-term concessions, and for me that means certain addons must come on line, certain acknowledged bugs are fixed and inconvienences get ironed out, and my own personal hardware is fully configured. I'm just going to have to stick with FSX in the short term, though I would prefer to move to the new platform as soon as those conditions are satisfied. In this case, I'm more than happy to be a REMF.
December 7, 201312 yr P3D is night and day better than FSX. There's really no comparison unless you fly the tubes and want one of the ones not (yet) offered for P3D.
