January 13, 201412 yr Thanks for the clarification and saving me a download! NL2000 does look nice though but I am a big iron flyer who only flies into EHAM. That's the newer version of NL2000's EHAM - the current one is still a lot better than default and better on frames than Aerosoft. If you download via torrent just the area with EHAM in it, it shouldn't be too big and shouldn't be too big.
January 14, 201412 yr That's the newer version of NL2000's EHAM - the current one is still a lot better than default and better on frames than Aerosoft. Are you sure? I just downloaded and installed the North Holland region, the libraries package and the 3d objects package and my EHAM didn't change at all (although the surroundings did, of course). Maybe I missed a step somewhere. James
January 14, 201412 yr No. The NL2000 scenery "Amsterdam" is only in the FS9 "NL2000 v3" software. If you head to the NL2000 main page, you will see a "News" section. Read some of these. If you read more than 2 of these, you will find a "Preview of work in progress: EHAM". http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=299 EHAM is under development for a future release date that hasn't happened yet because that's the nature of things that are in the future. The future is in the future and not the past. So to install an FSX version of EHAM Amsterdam from NL2000, you will need a TARDIS or Delorian or other time travelling vehicle. I still have NL2000v4 (.04 - Downloaded the whole thing) because places like Rotterdam EHRD, Eindhoven EHEH and Groningen EHGG still interest me, and ALL of those are included in the package. I downloaded it via the torrent over a week. Every night before bed, just start the torrent program. and keep it going till you want to use the internet again for something heavy like youtube etc. I downloaded it all on an ADSL connection fluctuation between about 80kbps. and (I checked once) 1.8kbps. Airline "Transavia" fly 737 NG aircraft (-700 and -800 series) from EHRD and EHEH to lots of interesting destinations around europe. So what you do get is at least EHGG EHEH EHRD - 3 'payware quality' airports for the price of "Free" Here's a destination map for Transavia. Break out your 737NGX and head out to all kinds of fun places around Europe! http://www.transavia.com/hv/en-EU/destinations Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
January 14, 201412 yr Moderator Can confirm the low fps, otherwise its ok. Not top notch, but payware quality for sure. I've noticed any airport from Aerosoft that has been designed by Peter Werltiz (not sure if I got his last name right) generally doesnt perform well. Now I read the pdf credits to see who the developers were before I purchase from them. If I see Peters name in the credits I stay away. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
January 14, 201412 yr Yeah, at least 4 payware-quality airports with Transavia flights operating from them--good call. Incidentally, the airports work perfectly without the photoreal terrain (or concomitant loss of autogen). Thanks for the tip. Best, James

The caveat being that I'm now using P3D2 - perhaps that has an enhanced EHAM?

Default AFCAD, Default buildings, Default taxyways, Default runways, surrounded by NL2000 High definition photorealistic ground/grass textures? January 14, 201412 yr Default AFCAD, Default buildings, Default taxyways, Default runways, surrounded by NL2000 High definition photorealistic ground/grass textures? No, from what I remember (and what I remember of default airports), it was a lot more than that - lots of terminal buildings, all in pretty much the same place as the Aerosoft ones. Ground textures weren't default either. Am at work at the moment so can't check but I'll try to get some screenshots tonight and I'll start a new thread as this is getting a little off topic now.
January 14, 201412 yr EHAM was one of the airports that had much-improved detail compared to most airports in default FSX--custom terminal buildings, etc. So the default one had much better detail than any given default airport to begin with.

Yes, EHAM is what MS called "high-detail" airport, i.e. custom buildings etc (still quite default-ish, though), but it has quite some performance impact on my computer already... Florian
