January 10, 201412 yr Hi Guys Serious apologies if this is in the wrong place, but I have been searching high and low and cannot find anything about this airport at all for FSX, that relates to the problems I am having with it. Does anybody else have this Mega Airport installed at all? Q1. Does yours look anything like the demo video on the Aerosoft website? Mine has huge horrible lighting on the runways, big star shaped airport lights on the taxiways and anywhere a light should be, the lighting is just plain dreadful, but it looks nothing like the video of the airport on their website.. Q2. Frame rates with this airport just seem to be through the floor.. VC in the NGX is 13fps, Spot view from outside cant seem to get above 15fps at max zoom out, its just a blooming slide show, and a really ugly one too.. Anybody else finding this? I have yet to see anything in this airport at all that makes me go "wow"... The video of it on the aerosoft site looks "wow", but the real thing is just "arghhhh"... Richard... January 10, 201412 yr Can confirm the low fps, otherwise its ok. Not top notch, but payware quality for sure.
January 10, 201412 yr Hello, I own some others AS Mega Airport, EDDF, LFPG, EGLL, ... but not LFPO. I have a good hardware (I72600K OC @4.4GHZ), and fps at theses airports could be good, around 20-30fps with a default aircraft, but can go down to 13-15fps with Captain SIm 777, Wilco Embraer or Airbus! What hardware do you have? Florian
January 10, 201412 yr I have Mega Airport LFPG and the frames are pretty abysmal - I think the Paris area is hard on frames due to the proximity of Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Le Bourget. Last night I bought FranceVFR Paris HD hoping that I'll get an LFPG that's better than default but not as hard on frames as the Aerosoft one.

Same for me, and your explanation sounds reasonable: Not only are there quite a few large airports, but also some "high detail airports" and a rather dense scenery for Paris, which could also be contributing factors to the bad performance there. January 10, 201412 yr Author Thanks Guys :-) My hardware is in my profile, <== lick where it says "My PC" it is by no means a slouch, steaming along at 4.67gHz off 2 SSD's. Such a shame that these "mega airports" are done so badly... The night lighting for example on all of these mega airports seem to be abismal, yet go checkout LHSimulations new Budapest LHBP!! WOW.. Excellent of frames, detail, landscape, high traffic, night lighting, everything about it is just spectacular, and is 20euro.. I cant really accept that LFPO is bad on frames due to proximity of other airports, as its only the LFPO airport I purchased and installed, so my sim is not trying to load any other nearby payware airports at all, this was the first one I bought for france... I notice too, that once I start firing up the NGX, it causes the sim to OOM and CTD before I can even start the engines, its that bad! Might have to write to aerosoft and ask for a refund as its unusable if I cant land there or take off from there at all. Trying to land there causes a CTD as soon as I'm close enough for the sim to start loading that scenery. Such a shame too, a massive, massive shame thats its so bad it actually is unflyable.. January 10, 201412 yr Commercial Member Sounds quite familiar to me although I don't own this particular airport, seems like there's a really big difference in terms of performance between different developers. For example Flytampa Athens & Dubai perform very well on my PC, usuallly +20 FPS with complex addon aircraft. Then on the other hand Aerosoft Mega Airport Amsterdam gives me really unflyable, around 10FPS with such aircraft. New Aerosoft Mega Airport Helsinki seems to perform quite well though, after all it's done by a different developer although published by Aerosoft.
January 10, 201412 yr See this recent LFPO thread at the Aerosoft forums: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/77608-orly-issues/
January 10, 201412 yr I run LFPO and LFPG Aerosoft scenery at the same time (don't ask me why since I only fly Air France 777F's into LFPG...) and I pretty much expect low framerates and probably an OOM on approach. I have heard the only solution to get more smooth performance (not much better frames apparently) and less OOM is to run DX10 with the fixer but that doesn't work with many addon airports unfortunately so I haven't tried it.
January 10, 201412 yr Then on the other hand Aerosoft Mega Airport Amsterdam gives me really unflyable, around 10FPS with such aircraft. Another +1 from me. Such bad performance at times that I went back to using NL2000's version of EHAM. Aerosoft really need to look at the performance of these 2, I don't even run payware aircraft!

I am interested because I too find Aerosoft EHAM unflyable but really love the airport itself. Does the NL version have good taxi and ground textures?

Does the NL version have good taxi and ground textures? I torrented the whole of NL2000 (which is entirely legal as it's freeware) from here: http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=247 It seems there isn't a separate download for EHAM though. I haven't used the NL2000 version that much so can't remember the details of the ground/taxi textures other than to say their EHAM is certainly a *lot* better than the default one.

Wow those are huge downloads. So the only way to get EHAM is to download the entire package? That is too bad. I am confused because this http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php?name=gallery2&g2_itemId=11642 Says EHAM is being worked on?
January 11, 201412 yr The EHAM airport is not ready from NL2000 its still being developed, the only EHAM scenery at this moment is from Aerosoft Mega Airport Amsterdam and this one is real heavy on frames. AMD Ryzen 7800X3D | MSI B650M PROJECT ZERO (MS-7E09) | 64gb Fury Beast DDR5-6400 | 6 TB NVMe | MSI RTX 4080 SUPER Gaming | MSI ARTYMIS 343CQR monitor

Thanks for the clarification and saving me a download! NL2000 does look nice though but I am a big iron flyer who only flies into EHAM.
