Hi,I'm still using a Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D for more than 3 years now. I do not have any problem with it.japangg

I had a problem with mine constantly losing calibration. It got so it was impossible to fly with it. Many people reported the same thing on Logitech's forum. They replaced some but customers usually had the same problem with the new one after a few weeks.I replaced mine with a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force and have not regretted it.Jim

I've been using the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for a number of years, and find that I need to replace it every 6-9 months - the potentiometres (is that how it's spelled?) seem to wear out very quickly, which is very disappointing. I really like the shape, look and useability of this stick, which is why I keep coming back, but I'm getting fed up.I took apart one of my old ones recently, and the construction is very modular - it would be VERY easy to replace the "pots" if someone knew a source. Everything inside just plugs together in a completely standard way. Anyone could do it.In the meantime, I've ordered myself a Saitek Cyborg evo (because I'm back to twitchy ailerons)and will see how that fares....Mike F.

I really likeDitto. Great cheap stick, but plan on replacing it periodically.

I've been using the Logitech Extreme Digital 3D since October 2003. Sometimes the calibration have been a little off, especially the rubber axis. That problem seems to have disappeared now. The only problem I have now is that the throttle never goes down to 0%, it's usually 5%, and it never goes up to 100%, it stops at 99%. Other than that, there's no problems at all.

Bought one last year. Lasted about 1 month then calibration went to pot. Replaced it with a Saitek Evo which works much better.

I've spent my last penny on anything Logitech makes. I've been through 2 sticks so far. I'm currently using the "Freedom 2.4" wireless stick and it sux. The elevator axis "lurches" one way or the other with very slight movements around neutral lately, getting worse by the minute. It also has a "sleep" function, where the stick "goes to sleep" after about a minute of inactivity apparently to save batteries. You must click a button to "wake it up" and sometimes it may take up to 20 seconds to connect and become operative again. During this 20 seconds, it sends freaky signals to the sim, like full left aileron or down elevator or something so you get to watch your beautiful approach get absolutely trashed by the stupid stick for 20 seconds and you can't do a thing about it until the stick becomes active again. By then you're so messed up you may as well CTRL+C your way out and go have a beer. There's no way to disable the "sleep" function, believe me I've tried. This stick may be fine for some fast-paced "shoot 'em up" game, but it's worthless for Flight Simulator IMO. Let the buyer beware!Jim

There seems to be a trend here with the Logitech stick, it seems that these sticks are poor quality, shame as i thought logitech were designed of very high standard, anyone else who has logitech joystick problems in the post, please post here.

Similar experience here. I purchased a Logitech Digital 3D stick about 2 years ago, and the rudder calibration died after approx 6 months. I received a replacement one under warranty and noticed (thru forum searches) that many others had the same problem after the same length of time (something to do with dust getting to the potentiometer?). I decided to try the Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 based on further research. This stick has been used extensively and never missed a beat. Great stick but I dont think they are available anymore. I now keep the Logitech one as a backup (but haven't needed it yet), and I expect that the previous problems will return if I use it.Pity, because apart from the rudder failures, it is an ideal joystick.WarrenQueensland, Australia

Any ideas on finding/using replacement potentiometers for the Logitech?I searched the web, as best I could, but didn't find anything. If you have an old stick, just undo the screws on the base and handle, and take a look - it looks as if it's made of off-the-shelf items. Certainly would be a nice solution.Mike F.
