That is a WideFS6 log file, WideFS6 is for FS9 you need WideFS version 7 for FSX/P3D

No, WideClient latest version is 6.999 -  it's wideSERVER, that is part of FSUIPC, that is version 7x.  She posted the Wideclient log.

Brittany, is the IP address showing in the line ServerIPAddr=  the same as the one that works in Simconnect?  Also, try removing or commenting out the line that says Servername= even though the documentation says the program will choose the IP over the name.

Just to be sure, FSX has to be running w/ registered FSUIPC & Wideserver (starts w/ FSUIPC) for Wideclient to connect.

It's working now on WideFS. Yay!

Glad to hear it!  Can you say what was the problem and how you fixed it?

I followed the instructions in the last post.  The only drawback is that with the static IP, my FS computer can't access the Internet.

I have the static IPs set in my wireless router, not in my computer.  My computers are set to "obtain an IP address automatically."  The router assigns a fixed local IP address to each computer.

I  just assigned a fixed IP address in my computer's network settings and it stopped internet access.  I went  back to "obtain IP automatically" and now it's working again.

Probably your DNS settings.

Try using the free Google DNS addresses:

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4

There are many others you can use (find them on Google), but at least you can try this way to see if you can get online.

Thank you, guys.  I'm back up and running.   Amazing how a software update caused so much trouble.  However, it is a testament to Tom Allensworth that his creation is so much beloved, and I'm sure he would appreciate how much AVSIM's community helped me out.
