January 23, 201412 yr I want to practice manual landing with my pmdg aircraft, and I tried FSinstant approach but it doesn't seem compatible with PMDG aircraft, so I figure the next best thing would be a short route that works with all the PMDG aircraft? I've got the 737,47,77,the JS41, and, the MD11. All I really want to work on is the landing portion I'd really like a route that would work well for all 5 of those. I'm asking here, because if there is another option I'd like to know. Patrick Boynton
January 24, 201412 yr How about flying a regular route and saving the flight at some point as you approach the destination airport. Then you can use the saved flight to practise manual approaches and landings. Once you load it, you can change the aircraft if you wish. Dugald Walker
January 24, 201412 yr Why dont you just fly circuits around one airport? This is the best and most realistic solution. If you want to save time, and avoid doing a circuit, use the FSX map to reposition yourself on an approach course after take off. You can drag the aircraft symbol to the position you want. However, hand flying a circuit is good practise and will help improve your flying.
January 24, 201412 yr One more for saving a flight situation from where you like to start practicing your approach/landing procedure. Add a couple of nm's to that spot (i.e. save your flight about 1 min earlier for the PMDG aircraft initialization, a quick systems check and getting your hands on the flight controls). What happened to AVSIM
January 24, 201412 yr If you want to practise only landings, without procedures - i can confirm that FSinstant approach is compatible with PMDG. There is a excellent freeware too: http://planeman-fs.blogspot.de/2012/05/lord-of-landing-v17.html What didn't worked for you with instant approach? Just make a take off, climb to 2000-3000ft and level up, slow down and configure aircraft for landing and then use FSinstant approach or something like that. After landing, retract the speedbrakes and just press again "Connect" on FSinstant approach. Then arm brakes and speedbrakes, un-pause the sim and make a landing again etc, etc... With NGX you will not here callouts on second landing(it seems that callouts are missing if you don't make a take off), but you can save some time and practise only landings If you didn't purchased FSinstant approach, better use that freeware, FSX map or saved situations, of course Zeljko Budovic
January 24, 201412 yr If you want to feel like you're training on the line, just do circuits for about 45min to an hour. (Though I start to get tired and fly sloppy after about 30mins  ) If you want to feel like you're training in a level d sim, use lord of landings: http://planeman-fs.blogspot.de/2012/05/lord-of-landing-v17.html
