February 21, 201412 yr Author Commercial Member DX10 is acting fine now, after I deleted and re-applied new nVidia Inspector profile for FSX. Maybe the slider in legacy shader must be pushed to the right for some planes? I'm keeping the slider on the middle. FSX crashed several times yesterday when I was checking out some photo scenery with default Robinson R22. Switched to default Piper Cub and no crashes. Strange! Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.
February 21, 201412 yr I had a crash today when I tried to open the map from a switch on a freeware hang glider's variometer. First crash for me in DX10. Probably had something to do with the addon (which probably was first made for FS2004). I won't push any buttons on that anymore. :-)
November 12, 201411 yr Commercial Member Sorry to bring this thread to life again (no point starting a new one). I also got stutters with v2.4 first time around. I noticed that I didn't swap my REX textures over to DX10 mode. COuld this be the culprit? Alex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK
November 12, 201411 yr I noticed that I didn't swap my REX textures over to DX10 mode. COuld this be the culprit? Alex Ah me too! I bought the Fixer and DX10 performance looks great, but I get a full crash (frozen black screen, that can only be resolved by hard booting the PC off), on every flight with DX10 (fixer), usually after 10-15 mins. I too never set my REX textures to DX10, so keen to see the response you get!
November 12, 201411 yr Commercial Member Crashes are unconnected to stutters. Whenever you switch version or make a change in the controller there will be some small stutters during the next flight as shaders are rebuilt. If you have a crash best post to the CTD forum and someone will identify where the issue is for you. Do you have sweetfx and the windows update KB2670837 that makes it unstable? My FSX Analysis Blog
November 12, 201411 yr Commercial Member I'll try again Steve and report back next week I did make a couple of flights and the stutters remained. Again, I will let you know but thanks again for your continued support Alex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK

November 13, 201411 yr Commercial Member A texture cannot cause a crash. As I said you need to post the details to the ctd forum and check if you have sweetfx and the windows update that crashes dx10 as the most likely cause. My FSX Analysis Blog

I may well have the Windows update. Will start a new post in the CTD section. Thanks.
November 13, 201411 yr I can see i did a post in here with unlimited FPS and half refreshrate which the last i believe now is only working in fullscreen ? Anyway i still run FSX in windowedmode and unlimited but i use Texturemaxload at 30 and the new software Fiber Acc, which do have a positive effect in FSX regarding smoothness i believe. I also see a differents regarding the plane you use. On my system the PMDG777X is more smooth than the NGX . The ORBX Lanceair is even more smooth . One more thing is these stutters has an impact with heavy autogen settings. I have absolut no stutter at FL400 in the NGX or PMDG777 worth mention anyway. Thats why Fiber Acc, is great on approach and below FL100. Now who can help on this irritating pause on approach sometimes when oral speeking planes is telling us 1000,500,100 feet etc (and RAAS) .That is also destroying the illusion Driver 344.11 WHQL Michael Moe Michael Moe
