Alabeo's next plane: Cessna C177B Cardinal

Featured Replies

Very excited about this one! That makes three in their pipeline I'm looking forward to.

Will be interesting to see how it compares to the F1 cardinal.

How is the F1 Cardinal? Don't hear much about it really

I had the F1 Cardinal for FS9 and although pretty good, I felt it was not quite up to the standard of other F1 products, perhaps betraying the fact that this was basically an FS2002 product. As I assumed the FSX one might have been another portover, I didn't bother going for it, but looking at the F1 site, this may not be the case. Would be interesting to hear from someone using this in FSX as to it's qualities. I would certainly be interested in adding a Cardinal but will wait to see how the two products compare.

Really looking forward to this. I was actually looking up that aircraft a few weeks ago and thinking that it would be nice if it still existed. And now Alabeo are making it!

I have the F1 Cardinal and it is very nice. I think it is a true FSX development. Better avionics than most in this class and price.Much better documentation for sure. One of the first to support Reality XP GNS.

I also have the AOPA Cardinal and the panel is especially well done. Actually best in class. This one was made by Flight1 also

I use to rent the RG model for2 place charters. I don't remember seeing many fixed gear version around my airports.

The F1 Cardinal for FSX was not FS2002 port. F1 had a FS9 Cardinal but it was a different model than the FSX version. Totally different panels.

I think the FSX Cardinal was not a port. The cabin did not seem to be as high resolution as the competition. This was probably intentional to keep the FPS up because most PCs

were underpowered in the early days of FSX. Just a guess.

I like it myself. The support for Reality XP GNS is a good feature.

Mmm, I personally think this is a very 'safe' choice.  Especially after the Cutlass RG.

I just have so many GA in this type of category that I doubt I'd pick this up.

Look forward to them doing something a bit more original.

I have the F1 Cardinal. I like it a lot.

The model itself wont win any prizes but I love the RXP integration and the FDE. It flies very well. Good value IMHO.

Still hoping for an Aztec (which no one has done).

Bill

Oh and yes, the F1 C177 was not a port of the previous version. It was brand new for FSX.

According to their website it is already out!

No, according to their website it is "incoming"!

I would have hoped the Cardinal RG would have been Alebeo's choice for an RG Cessna instead of the Gutless. Then again, part of the fun of FSX is flying the underpowered/underperforming airplanes that may be less desirable in real life.

I have the F1 Cardinal, it was pretty nice, tho a little graphically dated by today's standards. Apart from prettier graphics, I don't think the Alabeo version will be any more deep in systems.  We will see tho, it might be a winner for all we know.  I always have liked the Cardinal as an airplane.   Maybe I'll go for it during Alabeo Christmas sale next year.  Like Dave, I have a fleet of similar airplanes already so don't have a pressing need for it.

Since the F1 Cardinal is RXP capable, I hope Alabeo keeps their Cardinal with 1970s era avionics, or at least with an option to have no GPS

Cheers
