Autogen Pop UP

Featured Replies

Is it normal with P3DV2.1 to experience autogen pop up just like FSX. I understand it has a lot to do with settings, without having to list all my settings, My computer is of high end and all my settings with P3d are in medium range and my video card is a gtx 780. Are other people experiencing pop ups as well? I am a GA flier and as I fly along buildings and trees pop up in front of me. I have ftx global and ftx vector and no other add on programs.   Thanks

Regards

Shouldn't be as strong as in FSX. I can rarely see something "popping up". Autogen is smooth and steady.

My assumption is that it is never going to be "to the horizon", and that there is always going to be a defined area where there is autogen, and an area that you can still see where there is none. As you approach that area, the autogen is still going to have to pop up, and you will notice that if you are looking there. P3D v2 is only more consistent about where and how far you can see the autogen.

Is that correct?

I see no difference at all between autogen in 2.0 and 2.1, unlike some others, oddly enough.

Same. I made the same screenshot with 2.1 as with 2.0 - same place, same altitude - no difference with autogen radius drawing.

No pop up for me and no difference from 2.0 to 2.1. Autogen blends nicely and realistically to the horizon with the LOD set to high.

If anything, the autogen is better in 2.1. With TrackIR in 2.0 if I panned rapidly from 8 to 4, I would get popping autogen at the edges of the view. That issue has disappeared.

What zoom factor are you using in the vc? Are we talking about what you are seeing from the vc or are we talking about spot view? And no, it is not normal. If you can elaborate more, I am happy to set up the exact same flight and check for you.

Didn't FS9 have a sort of fade-in Autogen?  I'm used to the Autopops in FSX, but one of my wishes for P3D was that they would have made it more like FS9 to fade in.  I guess thats not to be.

My memory is fading now due to trying to come to grips with, and understanding too many versions of fsx. But yes, it was called seeding and worked well. Autogen changed all that in a later version.

Same here! Very happy with that improvement. In my case autogen didn't show up at the edges but the entire forest would popup when I would quickly look left. Things are far more steady now.
