March 4, 201412 yr Hi All - Since DX-10 is so much different than DX-9 tweaks. I was wondering about the "core parking" tweak for Window 7 64 bit. Is this something that would be of any benefit? Running under DX-10, I noticed last evening that GPU-z show about 35-48% GPU utilization of my Nvidia 580GTX card. Seems even with an overclocked CPU to 5.0Ghz, so I may still be CPU bound. I am running Ultimate Traffic 2 and noticed the frames drop a bit and a stutter/pause when it injects traffic. That is what got me thinking about the core parking as a solution?. Anyone else using this tweak with DX-10? Thanks, Daniel
March 4, 201412 yr I've made with no change (for me). I have micro micro stutters i think, or i'm very obsesive. March 4, 201412 yr You don't even have to go into the registry: Core Parking is inhibited when you choose the power-user profile - but it's a pain to setup, and I prefer the Value Min and Max wy to fix it, and yes, Daniel, it's just another one of those hundreds of little "impacts" that help to slow down FSX, or causes of micro stuttering. I kill anything that I can see uses proc cycles before running FSX. I do use it. But right now - I reckon your 580 is the slow-poke. I had to run UsePools=1, with an RT in order to get better performance when I had 5.0GHz and the 580, having tested a "0" setting against the "1" and an RT. After moving to the 780 I tested UsePools=0 - boom! wow! pj i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
March 4, 201412 yr Ok I have the max power profile in Windows. With my 2600k and GTX770 I should use BP 0 or 1? I'm going crazy with the little micro stutter. March 4, 201412 yr Hi Daniel: "I am running Ultimate Traffic 2 and noticed the frames drop a bit and a stutter/pause when it injects traffic." Yes - it does this, and it's one of the problems with UT2, Daniel. Hi Jose88: Read up on BufferPools (in my sig) Only you can test this.Anyone else is just guessing. You may spend a few days on this one particular subject. March 5, 201412 yr Author But right now - I reckon your 580 is the slow-poke. After moving to the 780 I tested UsePools=0 - boom! wow! Thanks Paul - You were right when you recommend replacing the CPU with an I7. I'll disable the CPU throttling and fiddle with the setting on the UsePool and RT this evening. Maybe I need to start shopping for a 780 soon. EDIT: Paul -Do you have a starting point that you can recommend on RT for the 1.5G 580GTX. I believe it is a similar card as your previous one. Best Regard!

March 5, 201412 yr Hello, I'm running an i7 - 4770k at 4.5 GHz and an Asus GTX780 3Gb. I can't seem to find the sweetspot with "Bufferpools". For the moment I'm running "UsePools=0". I also encounter microstutters. Certainly after installing Orbx NCA. Also would like to install FTX Global and Vector this week but I'm afraid this will increase the stutters even more. I'm running DX10. Followed Paul's guide for this. What's the best way to attack the problem ? Thanks. Eddy Crequie Eddy Crequie Belgium

March 5, 201412 yr I am running Ultimate Traffic 2 and noticed the frames drop a bit and a stutter/pause when it injects traffic. I'm afraid, that's "normal behaviour" for UT2. I believe this exact same thing happens in DX9. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
March 5, 201412 yr Arggg! I'm getting very frustrated! Testing and more testing, with BP 0 and 1 with different sizes, reducing FSX sliders, and always still micro stutters. I also have SSD. Oh my god, I'm tired of FSX. Enviado desde mi Nexus 5 mediante Tapatalk José Fco. March 5, 201412 yr Do you have Vector 1.1 installed? If so, open up the Confiquator for Vector and start unticking some of the features, such as traffic, traffic lights, etc. A real performance killer for me in urban areas. Skip
March 5, 201412 yr No results. I'm tired o testing. Always have micro stutters. Could be related to the scenery library order? Enviado desde mi Nexus 5 mediante Tapatalk José Fco. March 5, 201412 yr My tip: turn up your TEXTURE_BANDWITH_MULT value up to 2000 in your FSX.cfg. It is far off any recommendation, but I really wonder if this could resolve your microstutter problem. The stutter when UT2 injects traffic is to my knowledge impossible to fix, but why does it bother at all? I always wait some seconds for it, before I really start my FS session. For AI traffic, it anyway makes sense that you let run your FS for some minutes to get the AI running.
