PLEASE! A simple explanation of what Global Base, Global Vector does and replaces. THANK YOU!

A new system arrives next week.  What should I buy?  What should I install?  FSX is loaded.  I own quite a few FTX scenery products, Australia, New Zealand, North America, some airports, but not Ireland, Wales, etc.   I own GEX and UTX, also Scenery Tech land class and mesh for North America from FS Genesis.  Should I buy Global Base/Global Vector?  The screenshots ALWAYS look enticing.  If so ... HOW are they layered.  I'm sorry, I've read and read and I am not sure I get it.  Does G-Base do what GEX does and does does G-Vector do what UTX does.

I dream of a product or three that does what GEX, UTX, Landclass, and Mesh does from all the different sources.  I understand that Orbx will not have American landclass for some months.

Does anyone know of a link to a good article or explanation on how this all works.  $150+ is a lot of money for me to throw at Orbx when I'm not certain what I am getting.

That's a lot to ask.  I just can't seem to put the pieces of the different posts together.  Tell me to just read some more and I will get it??? I won't be offended.

your going to need a world mesh and PILOTS is the recommended one used in ORBX screenshots

so Thats another $100 and their land class will be another $150 all up I think so your total outlay is going to be $400 for true global ORBX

Thank you, zoran ... But of course ... I forgot the object is to  .... ahem ... be profitable.  I think  I can live with the US mesh I have, if it will work, Its from FSGenesis.   Anyone who has it working in North America scenery ... How do you compare the look with a GEX/UTX install with some good landclass and mesh?  Also ... am I right?  Global base does what GEX does and Global Vector does what UTX does?

Global base does what GEX does and Global Vector does what UTX does?

That's about it. It would mainly come down to personal preferences about which "lineup" to use.

If the money aspect does not matter, then you can check out the new and improved to see if it is better than the tried and tested stuff. But it's a lot of money for some and deserves some thought before spending that much.

I have FTX Global, as well as all of the available Orbx local scenery areas for North America (CRM, NRM, PFJ and SAK) , Europe (IRL, NIR, SCO, WAL and ENG)  and Australia, plus many individual airports within these areas, but I have not bought FTX Vector or Pilots Global Mesh. Prior to buying the Orbx products I already had all the UTX North American products as well as UTX Europe which I continue to use very successfully with the Orbx areas. As far as I can see, they provide the vector type data which FTX Vector would otherwise provide but, not owning FTX Vector, I cannot say which is the more accurate. I also had GEX but as FTX Global essentially performs the same function as GEX, I have now uninstalled this.

So the choice is yours - go the full UTX/GEX route (around $400 for the currently available ones - but not quite global coverage yet), the full Orbx/FTX route (about $400 for global coverage) or do like I have done  and combine your existing UTX products with FTX Global and any FTX scenery areas you wish but omit FTX Vector!

Thank you, Bill. I like your last idea since I already have UTX. I just hope FTX Global is as good as GEX. :)

All you need to know is here on our forums, no login or account is needed to view: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/76414-all-you-need-to-know-about-orbx-products-pdf-document/

As I am someone getting ready to purchase their first Orbx product, this document was incredibly helpful and informative.

Thanks
