Regarding the discussion on Saturday of the circle indicating the direction of landing made up of blocks or segments... there's a technical name for it (my story why I couldn't remember):

 

It's a Segmented Circle (or segmented circle indicator).

 

Quiz on that in two weeks (the name)...
