So  it happens when you  click on the actual gear hand  in the aircraft not  hitting   the g  key on key board. Yea you can reassign you key assignments in fsx key  settings might solve your issue,  I never  changed those at all might be  the issue  that's its conflicting  with the fsx  key assignments?

To the OP,

I apologize on behalf of those who jumped to conclusions and burned you at the stake,

since none of them has seen fit to do so.

You have taken the higher road and helped without biting back,

By default, pmdg have the gear assignment in the Key Commands in the CDU. Can you check yours when you have a free moment.

No in my set up  the default set up is  blank since when I  pressed the gear Lsk  it  came up saying press a key on your key board to assign  so iam assuming there wasn't  a key set up at all by default

Thanks Pete, think your onto something. maybe I am getting double key presses and it causes the gear to have a fit.

Don't know why it is set like that, I have never touched the key command section as I was a bit worried I would stuff it up. But maybe I did thinking I had too. < getting older> :P

Thanks for taking the time to help.

Default key assignment for the L/G in both FSX and the T7 is 'G', correct?

It takes some muddling up of the key assignments to produce the OP's issue, right?

Does it actually have to be fixed via editing the Standard.xml file; wouldn't it be enough to re-assign those key commands via the FSX menu and the CDU?

And what does the fix described above do to the screenshot hotkey?

What happened to AVSIM

key commands via the FSX menu and the CDU?

After reading Pete's post, I think it has to one or the other Olli, either in the CDU or FSX  key settings.

As for the gear tweak, I am not using that yet, as I will see if removing the key command from the NGX and the T7 will fix my problem. I did have a look at the standard xml, and can only assume that it would disable the screenie command.

I've just checked my setup and 'G' is assigned in both FSX and in the T7 CDU.

Works as advertised ...   B)

It is quite puzzling. Pressing the G key, the gear stays down, and on the EICAS you get "Gear Door" and "Gear Disagree". And on approach, the same. Sometimes you only get one or the other.

Using the mouse to lower the gear seem to work. I cannot say for certain that removing the G from the CDU is the cause, because it is random, and could take many take offs till I know. Darn thing has been dogging me for months.

Pete said he did not have the gear key set in the CDU by default. But I did and sounds like you did too.

I'm almost positive it is Ollie and Julian.  I haven't touched any key assignments in the CDU and it does show G for gear.  I use my Saitek throttle quadrant for gear up/down anyways.  Do you use a throttle and or yoke for any assigned functions Juilan?

Hi Chris, I do have a CH Pro Eclipse and pedals but i don't have gear and flaps assigned to them. I have always used the keyboard as it is easier for me. Yoke etc calibrated through CH Manager.

I have tried various troubleshooting methods, and initially I thought it was panel states (NGX) as well. I reinstalled both planes in case it was a license issue.

I just completed a flight from KLAS to KMCO using the T7, and used the mouse to operate the gear, and all was fine.

Next flight I will try the G key and see what happens with the G removed from the CDU.

I am being cautious about yelling "Eureka" till I know what is causing this ambiguity.

I suppose I could just ignore it and use the mouse, but I still like to find out if the gear command is receiving double commands.

Ever thought  it could be  your key board key  g is acting up one way to test it is to swap assignments  with  the g key  and  another key on your key board  since   using  the actual gear handle using  the mouse  works  which now points  to your key board now.  Just a thought to ponder

Another way to see if you got  double  commands  using the g  key on your key board is  to delete  the g   from your fsx settings  than insert it  again  it  will tell you if its being  used by another action or something  similar to that any way

Thanks Pete. Never thought it could be keyboard as I type GGGGG it works. As you said, it could be spiking and the keyboard could be faulty. Thanks for the tip.

TBH the best way to solve dat issue is to buy the original copy.

The original copy of what ? Even though you typed in text speech, I still not sure what your on about.

Did that and all good. Will try another keyboard. Going to take a few days of troubleshooting, will let you know how it goes. Thanks again Pete.
