June 8, 201411 yr In the FMC I put in 180,000 lbs of fuel, but it would not change from 358,000. It was installed using admin rights so was FSX. Any suggestions? PS, everything else in the FMC appears to be working fine except load fuel Steve BartlettCEOhttp://sunlandamerica.com

PS, everything else in the FMC appears to be working fine except load fuel Try putting 180 into scratchpad and upselecting it, instead of 180,000 The FMS, unlike the NGX, accepts numbers like this. I mostly fly in kg instead of lbs, and always do this, say 47,000kg I put in 47, and the FMS assumes 47,000. The 737NGX on the other hand would actually put in 47kg. Wes Meyer

June 9, 201411 yr Commercial Member Any suggestions? Stupid question, but you didn't specify, so: Are you doing this on the PERF INIT page, or the FS ACTIONS > FUEL page? Kyle Rodgers

June 9, 201411 yr FS Actions fuel page The strange thing is, is that the GW and ZFW changes, but the fuel amount does not Are you using the ground turn-around options or manual turn around? Also, what panel state is this from, could you possibly try another panel state? Also, what if you put in 0 or manually select one of the 3 PMDG options (Full, long range, short range) just to see what happens. Wes Meyer
June 9, 201411 yr If you are using the refuel feature in the turnaround section, it will not defuel the plane. You have to set the fuel quantity yourself to 180,000lbs or less Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." B.W.
June 9, 201411 yr Author I am not using either. Last time I flew it, it was fine. I always go in and start the ground power, then come down to the FMC FS Action/Fuel and type it in and then LSK1 or whatever it is where the it shows the fuel quantity Steve BartlettCEOhttp://sunlandamerica.com
June 9, 201411 yr Commercial Member It was installed using admin rights so was FSX. Are you running FSX as an admin? There's a difference that could easily cause what you're seeing. Additionally, are you using an ASUS computer? Kyle Rodgers
June 9, 201411 yr Are you running FSX as an admin? There's a difference that could easily cause what you're seeing. Additionally, are you using an ASUS computer? Both very valid questions. To run it is admin, right-click and choose run as admin, or edit the shortcut properties to ALWAYS run as admin. RE ASUS computers, that damn bios clock error is even causing headaches for security camera processing computers, I had to deal with one today. Wes Meyer

I think you answered your own question with the quote about admin. Yes they were BOTH installed with admin rights. I have a Gateway computer. Steve BartlettCEOhttp://sunlandamerica.com
June 9, 201411 yr Commercial Member I think you answered your own question with the quote about admin. Yes they were BOTH installed with admin rights. I have a Gateway computer. Steve, I didn't. There is a difference between installing as an admin (which I saw and understood both times you mentioned it), and running as an admin. They're entirely different processes. It's like saying a Boeing pilot helped design a plane, and a Boeing pilot is currently flying the plane. You're only telling me that you had a Boeing pilot help to design the plane. I'm asking if a Boeing pilot is flying it. Completely different concept. In other words, when you start FS, are you right clicking and selecting Run as Admin? You may have done this with the installers when you installed it, but again, that's different. Two - entirely - separate processes. Kyle Rodgers

June 9, 201411 yr Commercial Member In the properties/compatability The "Run as Admin" box is checked, yes. Cool - thanks! Being on a Gateway, you're not likely having issues with an ASUS motherboard (although, it's worth checking who made your MoBo), as many have been lately. Can you think of anything that may have changed between when it worked properly, and when it stopped working? Installed an extra program? Kyle Rodgers
