August 13, 201411 yr If I could chip in, what's that thing exactly used for? Is it calibration of some sort? Seems odd for a massive checkerboard to be stuck the wilderness of the PNW...
August 13, 201411 yr It is ( believe) simply a clear cut tract (or tracts). Clear cuts here in WV (especially those sold by the Forest Service--USFS-- are usually squares like that.
