June 20, 201411 yr Hello everyone, I'd like to use TOPCAT for my calculations but MTOW, MZFW values are not matching with FCOM. May someone help me on this? I am using "Boeing 737-8K2NGX Transavia Airlines Winglets", this livery is from http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/downloads/liveries.html 1- Does MTOW changes on different liveries? 2- FCOM is not matching with aircraft.cfg file, is that normal? I have tested different configs from various forums and blogs but none of them is matching with my FMC.
June 20, 201411 yr Hi Change the values manually in the configuration Aircraft page TOPCAT. Paolo Rognoni
June 20, 201411 yr Values of MTOW are typically possible to select by operator from some values. Operators use this to take advantage of lower fees if they don't need the full MTOW. MZFW should be about the same though. Check your FCOMv1 --Peter Fabian
June 20, 201411 yr Author Hello Fabo, Even if i set values manually, i can't make it match with FMC. Here are some screenshots and my aircraft.cfg below Link to aircraft.cfg http://pastebin.com/Xq2hnSfu Link to my TOPCAT config http://pastebin.com/tj8BHXmA
June 20, 201411 yr What are you talking about? I see everything lining up just fine. ZFW is spot on, GW is correct too (if you keep in mind TOPCAT lists takeoff weight, so you need to add treci fuel to that). Even the CG is good. Cristi Neagu
June 20, 201411 yr A couple of things to keep in mind: 1. +/-1kts on V-speeds is nothing to worry about. 2. 0.5 units of trim is again nothing serious. In the real aircraft there is no way to see your trim to the 2nd decimal. Pilots set it approximately to the correct value, and that's just fine. 3.TOPCAT's V1 might differ from that of the FMC cause TOPCAT calculates a field specific value, unlike the FMC, who uses a more general value. 4. All of the above points have been thoroughly explained by Kyle in one of his tutorials. I'm on my phone right now, so if he could be ever so gracious to bless us with a link, I'd really appreciate it :D 5. There was nothing about V-speeds in your original question. Cristi Neagu
June 20, 201411 yr Author Hello, Thanks for great info. One more thing, is there any way to see exact weight of 1 passenger of PMDG?
June 20, 201411 yr I might be wrong, but the TOPCAT model is for 22K engines and without winglets. PMDG on the other hand has 24K of thrust and winglets. This is one of the reasons, why you should prefer the PMDG calculated values instead on TOPCAT. One more thing, is there any way to see exact weight of 1 passenger of PMDG? Someone did the math. The best way to get things to match up is here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/417842-topcat-pfpx-737ngx-weights-how-to/ I might be wrong, but the TOPCAT model is for 22K engines and without winglets.PMDG on the other hand has 24K of thrust and winglets. June 20, 201411 yr Hello, Thanks for great info. One more thing, is there any way to see exact weight of 1 passenger of PMDG? Load one passenger and read the mass difference. If that doesn't work, load 100 passengers, read the mass difference and divide it by 100. Lj. June 20, 201411 yr I thought it was the other way around, but I think you're right that there's a mismatch somehow. As I wasn't sure, I went back and checked. TOPCAT has three profiles: - TO: 26K - TO1: 24K - TO2: 22K I wasn't able to find any info on the winglets though.
