December 18, 201411 yr "I thought that was the whole point of the new version" If it installed properly ........ did you uninstall the old version first then go thru the whole setup on the new version? Over the past couple of years,I have become quite professional at uninstalling and reinstalling Vox, that includes all the hidden internal workings files that still exhist after un-install. One thing I have done differently this time is, installed into program files instead of x86 (default directory). Perhaps this has some bearing, but I doubt it ? Ivan Smith

You dont have an option as the dialogue box will only let you uninstall or repair when launching a new version. On the whole its pretty accurate however a quick way to tell is hit "shift z " to pull up the wind when your in the traffic pattern ZORAN

Vox still reads the FSX default destination weather ? Ivan Smith
December 18, 201411 yr Shift z agree's with ASN ( except for a few degrees due to mag variation). Vox still reads the FSX default destination weather ? No not according to the Dev. ZORAN
December 18, 201411 yr No not according to the Dev. My FSX default destination weather allways reads 330/0, hence RWY 34 every approach ? I get reasonable accurate winds aloft data via shift z throughout the flight (compared to ASN winds aloft brief), they are never identical but close. Ivan Smith
December 18, 201411 yr "My FSX default destination weather allways reads 330/0" Where do you read (get it) from ? Is it Shift + Z inside FSX? Which Version of ASN are you using for FSX? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
December 18, 201411 yr Yes, I am fully up to date with ASN. If I load my A/C at YSSY without ASN, I always get active RWY 34, winds calm, via shift z (which Vox allways assigned me on approach). If I load the same at YSSY with ASN,I get real time weather with a magnetic discrepancy, which is close enough. Appreciate the help, as no one else has reported this issue with the new version, and to save us going around in circles, I will re-install into default location and re-try. Not to sure when I will get the opportunity to do so, I will repot back. Thanks for the help. Ivan Smith
December 18, 201411 yr "I will re-install into default location and re-try. Not to sure when I will get the opportunity to do so, I will repot back." Ok, sounds good. I was going to test ASN today but got Fatal Error on departure (KTDW) in FSX and Fatal error during taxi in P3Dv2.4 .......... Not good! Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
December 21, 201411 yr Waiting to see how this pans out then decide if I buy it. So far I really want to, everything I have read on it is good so far. Ric Elmore

December 21, 201411 yr Ok, We will see if a second reinstall (clearing all folders etc on the uninstall like you normally do) works to fix it. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

Here is a post from another thread, I think this answers my frustration ( as I use ASN live weather):- Yes, VoxATC will use what ever weather engine you throw at it but there is a caveat. VoxATC *ONLY* reads the weather once at the initialization which is a terrible flaw that needs to be remedied by VoxATC's creator. You will have accurate departure data but arrival is hit or miss if you use a hardcore weather engine like Active Sky NEXT that keeps the weather accurate and up to date constantly. Ivan Smith
December 22, 201411 yr That's weird. I am using Active Sky Next with 6.49 and I am not having any issues anymore. I always check ATIS and compare it to Active Sky and they always match. Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205
