American 77W WIP

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd share some work in progress. I'm working on updating the textures for the PMDG 77W. I decided to start with the AA livery. Obviously I have some things to add/fix.

Thankfully ModelXConvX allows me to view the model without loading FSX.. doesn't take long to get an OOM on my PC with photoshop and FSX open ha ha

Awesome job! Fantastic idea on the use of ModelConv to view paints in progress, I never thought of that!

I use it all the time - but not perfect as it does not render textures and even some are missing - but it helps would be awesome if it looked like it did in the sim

I noticed that too Richard. What I did was create a test texture folder, copied all the stuff from the common textures into it so it displayed them all.

New shot.. now to start working on the other side of the aircraft..

ha ha. It started with me doing the base textures.. only started on the left side. Decided to add some colour to the base to check out the details etc.. then it turned into me adding the American title and went on from there. I still need to do the other side! Currently working on the engine pylons. It's a holiday here today, and I'm work. It's dead quiet, so a good chance to work on some textures!

I still need to get my head around bump maps! That'll be a new experience.

Just use existent bumps

Rather not. They're not up to scratch.. Plus, they don't match my newly drawn panel lines etc.
