2-Way and 3-Way SLI support in P3D V2.3

Recommended Posts

I use only 1 screen 22 inch. That maybe explain less gpu usage. Does SLI target only on multyscreen, or also single screen can benefit in terms of FPS increase and performance in general?

All is done now with NV and AFR2. I will bring findings when more secure of the testings.

That didn't work for me ... at least no significant difference vs. 1 GPU.  If you can provide details of your exact settings and GPU, I'll certainly try again.

Cheers, Rob .

Hey Rob, I will come back with more when I am back in the cockpit tonight.

What I did basically was I tried the AFR friendly sliu way first and checked what I got, then keeping all same I tried with std prepar3d.exe plus settings in nVida conotrol planel and editing the parameters through NVinspector and got basically the same in FPS improvement, so I concluded that I could just stay with this. I moved as well to latest nVidia driver and no problems so far.

My current focus is on keeping my VAS low as with prepar3d + 73xxx +orb x + some airports it can be a challange to avoid oom's. I use 3 monitors for my cockpit, one is view, and 1 for CDU+lower planel and other for PFD's+clock, so a total of 5 undocked panels.

Hello Rob, here are my settings, hope the link works

I'll certainly take another shot at these, swamped with work right now, but thank you for taking the time to post the settings.

Cheers, Rob.

Migrated to P3D V 2.4 shall give this a try .

Get my second 980 shall modify it like the first card first.

Its gone be a very strong 2XGPU setup , approx 10% more gpu power than 3X Titan.

The AFR 2 setting can only be choosen in the NV Control Panel when NV Surround is off.

And my setup uses NV Surround on a 3 monitor wide outside view.

I have read that when choosing it and then reanabling NV Surround the setting is remembered even when it's hidden.

That might do the same as LuisClement has done through NV Inspector.

Did not try it yet as I am working on my cockpit right now.

Will be interesting to see your findings, I see that not always things work as they are said to be. For example if I read Nvidia Q/A for SLI it states that only 2 monitors are supported for multi-monitor in sli but I am using 3 monitors for my cockpit with no problem, the main view one with the focus selection to get most of the 3d acceleration, so we never know. I would like to try to add a 4th one and then have two for surround, main view and 2 for my nd/pfd/cdu views as I have.

Unfortunately still no go for SLI on my single monitor setup ... performance is identical when using your settings on latest 344.75 drivers and latest NI.

Will just have to hope nVidia deliver SLI drivers sometime in the future, LM have passed the ball to nVidia, so I continue to wait.

Cheers, Rob.

That is exactly what I have experienced too:)

@Luis,

   1)  Could you please provide a FLT file (scenario - location/scenery/aircraft - VC or not) setting where you get SLI improvement and with before/after FPS data ?

   2) It seems that monitor #1 is your focus monitor - is that the only monitor that gets SLI acceleration?

   3) Are the UNDEFINED values values that you entered in NI? (I don't have a second Nvidia video card myself yet to try these SLI settings)

   4) Any chance you could try Surround (requires three equal monitors) and/or just three separate monitors with separate P3D 3D views?

Thanks for your testing info!
