  1. I really believe you have already upgraded your gear since November last year, but if not, my recommendation is don't upgrade anything but GPU and maybe DDR3. Take GTX 980 or 980Ti and DDR3 2133MHz CL9 2x8 Gb. That will be enough for P3Dv#. And don't forget to OC your 2600K to 4.8GHz or more. Believe me you will not regret this, but you will regret complete system upgrade.

  3. I've read before in this forum that Prepar 3D V2 doesn't support SLI until Nvidia write SLI profile. Do I missing something, or Nvidia has fixed that by now?
  4. For me this plane is flying backwards ))))) Nice. Looks like more randomized overcast effect then previous REX texture direct. How it is with scaterred clouds? Are they low resolution or high resolution? Or "Soft clouds" can only be used as better alternative to overcast? I am thinking to use both REX4 TD when I want to have sky with clear cumulus , and Soft clouds when i want broken overcast.
  5. yes, nothing is worth now and its not better then 2600k (for FSX)
  6. And ORBX regions already have mesh and landclass? So FS Global is only really usable outside regions?
  7. That is exactly what I have experienced too:)
  8. What is 2) landclass layer? Do you have example? Why you think ORBX would make that layer?
  9. Yes, there is a solution http://forum.osm2xp.com/index.php?topic=81.0
  10. That is what we were waiting for. Looks very natural and after photo scenery from Simheaven, this makes me come back to generic textures again. Great job Andras !!! But there is some strange texture square on picture No.54 (of 76), looks like photo of the airport pasted in the middle of a field. Can you remove that in the scenery?
  11. Dissapointment comes because of the HW, not because of X-plane I am running i7 2600K @5.0GHz and GTX 780 classified and it tops its VRAM 3GB. 50 FPS . I replaced default clouds with SkyMaxx PRo which gives much better view and performance then default.
  12. I actually didn't want to switch from 2600K to 4790K yet. I want CPU which will give at least 30% improvement over 2600K @5.0GHz
  13. I use only 1 screen 22 inch. That maybe explain less gpu usage. Does SLI target only on multyscreen, or also single screen can benefit in terms of FPS increase and performance in general?
  14. Wow, that's really interesting. If this is true, then i really need another 6 GB card. Thanks for this information !!!
  15. Thanks. I have , using Nvidia Experience. So Rob, how is the progress on your SLI "Project". Would it be possible that you put some video with 1 card, and with 2 cards in SLI? just to compare how much stutters we can remove, and if some FPS can be gained? If you already have the video, could you send a link? I am bidding on Ebay for 1 more EVGA GTX 780 SC 6GB (or I could buy 3Gb instead, since P3D doesn' use more the 3GB VRAM).
  16. That's a good question. Why? Because 3 GPUs does not make it faster 3 times the single GPU processor. GPU will still work with the same speed, and send the video to the monitor with the same speed. Only workload for each GPU can be split. And now it is the point, how well the SW application and drivers can split this workload among multiple GPUs, and how fast the data can be processed internally on the card. But still it will not give you 3 times more FPS. With 2 cards in SLI you can get max 50% . You can get relatively more if you are using 2 monitors, and difference from 1 card on 2 monitors vs 2 cards on 2 monitors could be maybe 70%. But that is only what I think, since I dont have 2 cards and never used SLI. I am thinking to buy 1 more card and have them SLI for P3DV2, but I will do it after I see that it works.
  17. Yeah, thanks Rob. Xplane is much different then P3D, it doesn't utilize CPU so much, it never goes to maximum. Overclocked or not, it gives the same result for me. Only graphic card affects the performance, and SLI is not working there. But at least every next generation card improves the performance I don't understand why Nvidia doesn't have profile. There are tons of useless profiles there, for games which run on average card with 200 fps anyway, who needs SLI there?
  18. how we are sure that SLI doesn't work because of NVIDIA? take Laminar research Xplane for example: "the simulator’s speed is limited by the geometry going across the bus, not the fill rate. So, in that case, SLI and Crossfire are useless-"
  19. if anyone have 2 GPUs, did you try new FSX SLI profile in NVIDIA control panel? http://www.nvidia.in/object/sli-technology-games-in.html There are 2 profiles: Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator X ??? What's the difference? Will this raise FPS or not? Sorry, wrong forum. Should be in HW. How to remove?
  20. hehe good comment
