On my last flight I had a way more scary situation then the carrier-landing: Took off with the F/A-18 at 6:50 in the morning from Lemoore NAS for an nice training run inside Nellis Test Range. Armed with 2 AMG-64D Maverick, 1 Paveway II and 1 HARM anti-radiation missile but by accident I forgot to equip it with the center fuel tank. After approx. 2 hours of fun I wanted to head to the ocean to take out an ship with the last remaining Maverick. I checked everything, also the fuel, it said 3800 pounds remaining...Well, the last 20 mins trying to get back to Lemoore with pretty much no fuel at all was really tense, landed short before 9 o´clock with 30 min of fule remaining with engines in Idle. That was close!

How do you get the nose-gear on the VRS F/A-18E to turn more? Tried my first flight yesterday at Nellis AFB which I was lucky enough to see in real-life last summer, and I can get a 777 to turn in a tighter circle than the Hornet.

That bugged me a while will I figured it out: Unlock the wings first (set to hold-mode) and the push "N". Your HUD should now read " NWS HI". And don´t forget to lock the wings again when on the runway.

18 hours? I've got to do the Tutorial first as this a totally different bird to the T7s, etc, etc. A learning curve for me, sure.

If you are interested in some extreme bush flying this scenery is really awesome, it includes a lot of crazy airports in Papua New Guinea. Short bumpy runways often located in high altitudes & a lot of mountainous terrain. Of course also Aerosoft VNLK Lukla is a real classic.

For airliners I would recommend Toncontin MHTG & Paro VQPR. There are good payware scenery available for both in Simmarket, not sure about freeware alternatives.

Is the latest version of PacSim PNG compatible with FTX AYPY? I asked dev and never received a response.

you can try to land at NZMJ or T004 in ORBX New Zealand South Island with Milford Sound addon. I love it and I keep returning to this.
