Traffic Optimizer for FSX/P3D

Featured Replies

Well I am hoping someone here can help with a small problem with this tool. First of all Thank You as this baby is a nice utility.

If I run this on my FSX machine it runs fine so I thought I would set it up to run WideFS from my server. I can not even get the executable to start. When I click it I get this message:

This is on a W7 64bit machine. I have made sure all of the .net Frameworks are installed and operating.

Any help with this awesome utility would be appreciated.  :)

Make sure you are signed in under the administrator account.

There is only one account one the machine and it is the Admin account. I also have UAC off. My REX runs fine from the server and I know it has to be something specific with the machine.

If this helps I downloaded the AirTrafficManager for FS9 and it starts fine on the server. It has to be something the traffic manager for FSX is calling on that is not used for the FS9 version.

Simconnect?

(Just a wild shot ...).

Is this compatible with the AI Controller utility that allows AI to fly SIDs, STARs and airways?

I'm guessing no (SimConnect issues if nothing else) but just curious.

Penz, it actually doesn't seem to even get to that point. Like I said, when you click the icon to start the program it gives an error within 2 seconds. I did re-install simconnect on the client machine as you suggested but it did not help. I think the developer may have to answer this one.

I don't think I make an overstatement when I say this tool is revolutionary.

It has easily given me between 5-15 fps more in very busy airspaces (such as Chicago) and in flight sometimes up to 40 (!). I didn't feel at all that any AI traffic was missing, even with values set <100. I could probably go higher at no loss of performance because ~350 deleted aircraft or even more clearly show where the big performance drain was coming from.

Everyone should give this a try, installation and usage could not be simpler.

Well it is too bad I could not get an answer from the creator of this utility.

I have not tested across network, so its difficult for me say why it does not work then. But people have reported it to work fine.  Have you tried re-installing simconnect (SP1) on the both the machines?

Ok, I don't think anyone is understanding what exactly is going on. The machine I am trying to run it from also runs REX across the network using simconnect and runs fine. It is when I try to start the program when it immediately fails with this message:

The FS9 version of this program runs fine on the same machine so it is something that the FSX version is dependent on that the FS9 version is not. I Have checked all the .NET Framwork versions and everything validates from version 2.0 to version 4.51. As I said before I did try re-installing the simconnect even though I do not think it is the problem.

Love the program and even if I can't run it through WideFS I will still use it. Would just like to off load it to the other machine.

Many Thanks

I am confused, I did not make a FS9 version. What program are you referring to?

Ok, now I am confused.....LOL. Let me go back and check because I have 2 downloads of this program.

1. is a rar file labeled AirTrafficManager which has a lockheed martin simconnect dll file in it.

2. is a rar file labeled AirTrafficManagerFSX-SP2

The second one is the one I am trying to run. Which one should I be using? The first one works on the other machine but does not seem to delete any traffic. The second one is the one I run if I use it on the FSX machine.

Just use this one: http://www.mediafire.com/download/grmei5al2h0m4pj/AirTrafficManagerFSX-SP2.zip

Download fresh and try because link is same but the zip gets updated.

Ok, I just re-downloaded from the link you sent me. That one fails on my remote machine not sure why but like I said, the one that came with a lockheed martin dll would work but didn't seem to delete any traffic. If we can not find the answer it is no big deal because as I said, it runs fine from the local machine and I love it!
