September 24, 201411 yr Moderator What a relief! Glad its working for you now.Yes, I can add a message for the version. The message needs fix. The FSX version is lagging the P3D version as I have some issues with it. Will fix that when ready. I'm hugely relieved simply because I was convinced I had done everything correctly. And if I can install the wrong version others probably can too. Look forward to future versions and thanks once again for providing such a useful utility. They say the days of the keen enthusiast who provides free software are dead. You're proof that is wrong and it's so refreshing to find someone who is prepared to help the FS community. You should get an AvSim award for this - it's that good! :Applause: Ray (Cheshire, England). September 24, 201411 yr Author Folks, this is the new link to download the optimizer: http://www.mediafire.com/download/grmei5al2h0m4pj/AirTrafficManagerFSX-SP2.zip Changes 1. Remembers last settings of target, airports, optimization on/off 2. Minimizes on start up Don't have a proper solution for figuring out source and destination airports yet.

Not sure what you already had, but please download again. I uploaded a new version.
September 24, 201411 yr Moderator duke, It might be helpful if you amended the title of this thread removing the reference to P3D as it has its own thread in that forum. Ray (Cheshire, England). September 24, 201411 yr Author duke, It might be helpful if you amended the title of this thread removing the reference to P3D as it has its own thread in that forum. That's right. However I am just testing this version with P3D and it works fine, so we may need only one version (this one) for both. Few more minutes... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: I have uploaded a new version which reads departure and destinations from your flight plan. This version will work both FSX and P3D. If you are running across the network then flight reading may not work.
September 24, 201411 yr Just wondering if anyone does have this running in Win8? Won't start for me at all. Thanks for any info. Joe Lorenc
September 24, 201411 yr Just wondering if anyone does have this running in Win8? Won't start for me at all. It works just fine for me under Win 8.1 with P3d 2.3.
September 24, 201411 yr The newest version works fine here, in both P3D (2.3) and FSX (Gold), on Windows 7 64 bit. It even says what simulator version it is connected to, and the simconnect version used. - Jens Peter "Penz" Pedersen
September 25, 201411 yr Moderator duke, Thanks for the new version. A couple of observations... I don't understand the need to store the 2 ICAOs from the previous run. If I start from a different airport as I usually do this is of no help. I have to enter the 2 ICAOs for my new flight. Also, it's reading the flight plan as soon as I start the program. That is not the flight plan I want to use with your program. This is happening because I start AirTrafficManager from FSUIPC4.ini. If I started it manually I could set everything up and then start it. But starting it automatically along with other programs is useful as it reduces my workload. If you're reading the flight plan then is there any need for the user to populate the 2 ICAO fields? You could do that couldn't you from the flight plan? If you give me the option to start the optimising when I'm ready then that would be very helpful. And could you make start minimised an option please? It doesn't seem to like FS9 style plans loaded into FSX. Maybe you could look to making them compatible. This was created by WideClient for Project Magenta users but is a perfectly valid plan that FSX accepts. > Connection request sent ...> Connected to Microsoft Flight Simulator X - 10.0.61472.0> Connected to SimConnect - 10.0.61259.0> Data request sent ...> Reading flight plan: E:\Users\username\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\EGCCLFPGX.PLN> Failed to read flight plan - Data at the root level is invalid. But you are right in most cases this is not needed or may need correction from the user. I think I should take this out to have less confusion. I also start this using exe.xml entry. The flight plan is checked every minute before optimization cycle begins. So on just starting you may see the older values of ICAOs, from the previous run, however when the optimize cycle begins and runs, every minute, the program checks if flight plan is changed and updates ICAOs. So the optimize cycle will always run on the basis of updated ICAOs. In case you don't want to optimize immediately, then you can also click "Refresh" that will reload the flight plan ICAOs, if changed. About "If you give me the option to start the optimising when I'm ready then that would be very helpful."? Can you clarify this? Start minimize option and reading FS9 plan should in next version.

In case you don't want to optimize immediately, then you can also click "Refresh" that will reload the flight plan ICAOs, if changed. I also realised I can deselect Auto Optimise so that should solve that problem when the program is next started with my preferences stored. About "If you give me the option to start the optimising when I'm ready then that would be very helpful."? Can you clarify this? Ignore that. It's been a hard week. Unchecking "Auto-Optimise" solves that problem when it next runs. Start minimize option and reading FS9 plan should in next version. September 25, 201411 yr I have a question: What is your setting for "Target Count"?I ask this because, everytime when I land, I have to go around. I use currently 60
