777-200 Error message DOOR ENTRY 5L

Hi folks,

I am just flying the AFR 77 leg to KLAX of the turn LFPG-KLAX-NTAA-KLAX-LFPG.

Air France use  the 777-200 for this, and of course I took the fictional 777-200LR AFR livery.

Before take off in KLAX to NTAA I faced the message DOOR ENTRY 5L.

(IMU this was not discussed in the thread http://forum.avsim.net/topic/446949-note-for-pmdg-found-a-minor-bug/ , where the -300 was in dispute. )

Obviously the 777-200s don't have  the 5L/5R.

And I cannot get rid of it: In Menu--PMDG Setup--Aircraft--Failures it does not show up. Nothing to clear away.

Any ideas?

Do I have to start again e.g. from 777 Cold & Dark?

Thanx in advance.

Not sure, but maybe the panel state does have something to do with it. Do you get the message if you start with default conditions? Do you have latest SP1b installed and did you delete old panel states?  As for cold and dark, pilots rarely see this condition, I always use the short turnaround panel (my own) with aircraft on ground air/power at gate with door open.

I have got this when using a custom saved 777-300ER panel state with 5L open, and then loading a 777-200LR. I have not lodged a support ticket, so perhaps you should. Unless they know about it?

Always load a default FSX aircraft first before you switch from any PMDG like addons to another. Going from 777LR/F to 777-300ER will almost allways cause errors like these.

My bet is a 300ER panel state got saved and then used in the 200LR.

Simple fix:

Don't do that.

Best Practice:

Include some form of reference to the 200 and 300 to ensure they don't get used in the opposite model.

FYI: if you're not using model-specific functions, then it doesn't matter what plane you use it in.

Hi folks,

1.

if I am not mistaken, the error message appeared during my flight preps similar to the one which sometimes shows up in 737NGX indicating that an emergency doors is open.

2.

Usually I start from 777 cold & dark and save an aircraft specific situation, e.g. 77L-ACA or 773-BAW.
