April 30, 200521 yr Len, Did you follow the instructions for backup of of the .ini files when you installed? If you did, it's a simple matter to reinstall.
April 30, 200521 yr Hello,I have both the 900 and the 600 VCE's. Both have the ext pack which I believe is in your package. I have dealt with Ariane for about 5 months and they are "different" but cooperative. They require a little patience and since they are about 5 hours ahead of me, I expect to hear from them the next day.I have never been able to activate on-line. I use the EMAIL method (don't know if that is in your package). I do the Email Activation which sends them an email and wait to get the email from them with the codes. I start the program up and go to the FMS and use the ENTER EMAIL feature to enter the code. It works for me. The extension pack activates first and I just use the EMAIL Activation method there.I recently bought a new computer and had to reinstall the Ariane packages. It went fine after I learned that the order of install (900 then 600) was important. If you only have the 700 it does not matter. There is a lot of reading to do in the manuals before going to Ariane. They are really diificult if it is in the manual and you don't get it the first time. I do keep a backup of the entire Ariane folder in my Flight SIm folder as a backup. I also keep a CD backup of their programs and activation info because they are very tight on resending them.Good luck,Ron SagelNear KCHS
May 1, 200521 yr Ron;Can you confirm that there is no problem with reinstalling the ariane on a new computer?Reason im asking is that i get a new comp next week, and i wonder if the ariane would be possible to install on my new comp.Think it says something in the manual about offline activation and reinstallment on a new comp.Anyway, i totally agree, they are a little different, but i have received all the support you can expect from a serious business, and even more. They have bended their rules alot for me to be able to reinstall my addons. As i said above here, i had lost EVERYTHING that could prove that i had bought their 600 VCe.They helped me out in any way they could, and i now have both their 900,600 and recently bought their 700.They are expensive, but they are also extremely good.Im planning to do another unofficial review of the Ariane700 vs. PMDG, just so people can understand and make their own judgement about it.
May 1, 200521 yr Hello,Ariane is VERY TIGHT on issuing new activations. I believe that you would be best served by sending them an email stating your intentions to buy a new computer and your need to reinstall their addon(s). Their response would serve as some kind of support for your needs.I did just that when I bought my new Monarch custom built sim computer for my network. They were still a little difficult about the reactivation but they did support me and I have my new system up and running. I only use the Email Activation method and have done my reinstalls (on the same computer) a number of times without problems. Once you have the setup, saving a copy of the Ariane folder is also a good idea.Short of wishing that they would use the Flight One Wrapper for their installations, I have found Ariane to be quite supportive of what I consider to be a very expensive "addiction" to their addons. I really like their VCE concept (since I now have a very high end display and processing system) and look forward to new additions.Good luck,Ron SagelNear KCHS
May 1, 200521 yr Hello guys,After success activation with mail sent to me i have tested this product after reading the manual but I have noticed some problem:1)The TCAS test button don't work....any suggestion2)During flight the indication baro/radio on PFD disappear:( 3)Crash inserting speed/FL in the legs page in to FMCThanksCristiano
May 1, 200521 yr Thanks for the email link. I don't know what I saved and brought over from my other computer but whatever I reinstalled I can get the plane itself but not the cockpit. In any event I do have my receipt and sent that along. We shall see what happens next. Hope there will be a good report.
May 5, 200521 yr Svein for the record, I can't wait to read your updated review on this product... :-) I hope you won't be afraid to set the record straight between the Ariane and PMDG 737's.... :-smooch FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
May 6, 200521 yr Wow. I'm not a senior flight simmer y any means, as I was introduced to it in late 2003. However in that short time I have heard of alot of different companies offering addons for FS. I have NEVER, till today, heard of Ariane, mostly I guess because of their "hiding behind a rock" tactics :) Now, after reading this thread, I have become SORELY tempted to make the purchase. Sorely because, OUCH, that's alot of dough.Someone steer me right (ok everybody)I'm looking for an immersive, ultra reallistic FS add-on aircraft, without getting a mortgage for a cockpit simulator :)Level D has my attentionNow, so does ArianeI love the three-sevens, especially the NG's, but I like the six-sevens as well.ARGGGG!!!!what to do?
May 6, 200521 yr By all means Level-D... Be prepared for a learning curve as your learning to fly like the big boys... :-) FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
