Ariane Purchase?

Featured Replies

Maybe you're in a different timezone and they were all asleep? Remember Ariane is a UK based company so if you mail them during the afternoon in the US it will be late night for them.Their visual models look great, as I don't have them I can't comment on the functionality of the panels. I've seen quite a few people using it with the PMDG panel though.

I've the -900. Each of my mails to Ariane was answered so far, I cannot confirm their support is bad. I recently re-installed WinXP and FS9 from scratch, and they provided me quickly with the necessary informations for an off-line install.Ariane's support is available only during business hours (currently CEST, Europe) and usually nswer within 48 hours.Andreas

Ibe heard that they have bad customer service on some occasions. Some pics ive seen of this new HD version, "*new and revised maybe of previosu version?*" and they do look nice. I suppose ariane might be going somewhere. Their VC looks very nice. Which that plane better do something very special for nearly 100$. I honestly would of reccomended the PMDG 6/7/8/9 series 737 for that price. Most expensive aircraft ive every heard. Good luck with the plane and keep me posted. Post a few pics in the Screen Shot Forum. Id like to see what its like.. :):-wave

a lot of people pirate the Ariane stuff, it looks good but they are such jerks no one wants to actually buy the stuff, the 900 is okay, not nearly as good as the PMDG and the their VC is blurry.the other planes, 300, 500, 700, are nice and have nice panels but they want you to buy repaints, it's hard to find repaints on the free sites since Ariane doesnt allow repaints to be distributed anywhere but their own site, I dont think they offer their paint kits anymore either due to the upload of a few skins to AVSIM....

Moss1--Didn't see your post yesterday. It's been several years since I exchanged emails with anyone at Ariane, but when I did the emails were replied to within a 24-48 hour time frame (or sooner given the time zone difference Jeroen mentions, if I managed the catch them early enough). In all my email exchanges, only one person has ever replied so that's probably stretching it a bit thin if that person goes out of town or is on holiday. But all emails were answered--just be patient. Also, you may need to disable your spam filters. Some of the newer Spam filters are blocking email with embedded graphics, which some vendors are now including in their coorespondence.-John

thats enough.. i had been thinking about a purchase of theirs, but reading what you just said, why would you want to? Looks good in all the screen shots i see, but its that kind of stuff that makes it not worth the purchase i guess..:-wave

Hello everyone and thanks for replying. First, Ricardo41... LIGHTEN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I NEVER KNEW there was other posts about Ariane, OK????? What did I ever do to you? I never did anything to anyone on these forums, and this is the first time I have spoken out, so please realize I have only been member here a few months. By the way can I trade my free golf magazines in for Flying Magazine?? Anyway, they did get back to me this morning and took care of my registration problem. Thanks again for the replys. Best regards, moss1 And Ricardo, we are all here for the love of Flight Simulation, I don't mean any harm in my reply to you, I was just shocked at the response you gave me. I thought we are all family here, at least thats how I feel. Have a great night everyone!

David,I'm not a fan of Ariane, however I don't think your post gives a fair view of their support. I support many users--often by just email, and even the brightest of them commit pretty glaring mistakes. "Answer for dummies" is where we need to start when supporting users. Ariane is no different, and ranting on in a public forum about prosecuting them isn't going to gain empathy from those of us who make a living dealing with these types of issues. Sorry they didn't grasp how smart you are, but most of the people we deal with in support leave something very basic out of the series of events that initiates an email or call.-John

I just bought the 737-700 base pack from Ariane $97.43!! Anyway, I followed the install activation instructions by the book and It says invalid ID and Password everytime. I sent Ariane an E-mail. Then I read back in the forums here about their horrible customer service. Has that changed any? I hope it did. I also hope that this was worth the money. Anyone out there have this product? Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, moss1

Thread cleaned up.

well done. Let's keep this civilised for a change.

I had problems with the 'online activation' with the 737-700, so i mailed Ariane with the problem and carried out the 'offline activation'. I also had an issue with 2Di panel as it didn't fit on the screen. I had very good customer service from Ariane on both issues. Remember: It's how you approach them. If you appear to be brash, they will not be very supportive.Cheers

Like with all companies. They're only people, treat them like you want them to treat you.

I purchased both the Continental 737-300 and 737-500 from Ariane a couple of years ago and never had any problems with their support. They always got back to me within 24 hours and were very professional in their responses. I looked at their 737-700 & 800 for quite a while but didn't see that they had a true NG panel so when PMDG came out with their NG I purchased it instead. I am now flying both the Ariane -300 & -500 and the PMDG -700, -800, & -900 in Continental colors. Both companies produced premier products IMHO.Steve

Good job Ken, I totally agree.Jeff
