Speed restriction in SID and STAR

Featured Replies

Bonjour,

I would like to know what is the syntax in the navdata (Navigraph) so that the FMC can read the restrictions in SID and STAR.

I tried to modify the SPEED tag in the txt file (SPEED AT OR ABOVE 250 instead of SPEED 250) without success.

In the tutorial 1 it is said

The chart specifies that speed restriction at SUGOL is actually "MAX 250 KTS" - this is an "at or below" restriction, but the navdata has coded it as "hard" or mandatory 250kts restriction.

Navigraph told me they can provide the information.

So, is there a solution ?

Best regards

Are you trying to add AT or ABOVE speed restrictions in the FMS to match that of your navigraph chart? If so...

On the legs page in the FMC you will have something like this MARGO 250/13000

To make MARGO 250kts an AT or ABOVE speed rest. Enter 250B/ on LSKX whatever is adjacent to MARGO.

For an AT or BELOW enter 250A/

To make a HARD rest enter 250/

Thank you for the answers...

May be I was not clear enough in my post... sorry.

In fact I know how to modify the speed restrictions directly in the FMC, but I wonder if it was not possible to avoid this step.

As you can see PMDG says that the speed restriction information is not provided in the AIRAC and coded as mandatory "SPEED 250" for example.

Navigraph told me they can provide it as for the altitude like "SPEED AT OR ABOVE 250".

So if PMDG could read this info, as for the altitude, it would be nice. That's why I asked for the syntax. These information are coded for each airport in the SID/STAR folder.

Swap the 'A' ("Above") with the 'B' ("Below") and you should be fine.   B)

When i posted it and went off i think i realised i made an mistake :(

PM me sometime I have a comprehensive document by Terry Yingling that covers writing procedures for the PMDG FMC.

Thank you very much.

I found the document in the avsim library,... very interesting, but unfortunately i do not see a way to implement a restriction on speed.

Cheers

PMDG is not modifying the sidstar syntax to maintain compatibility across the whole product line. The syntax is old and we all wish for improvments but they have not announced yet when and how those improvements will take place.
