May 12, 200521 yr <>Actually, I have FE and think very highly of its benefits, but I agree that the views of beta testers (both those who disclose themselves as such and those who don't) cannot be relied upon for unbiased views no matter how well-intentioned they might be.For my part, I just disregard "positive reviews" on new products by people with just a few posts on their forum records.Of course, they are free to register and post whatever they wish.Regards,Jim
May 12, 200521 yr I've read most of the posts about FE and am still trying to decide whether to buy it. I hesitate because I can't see an improvement over Chris Willis's FS Skyworld. All the excellent shots I've seen on various threads are as good but no better than what I see with FS Skyworld. I know this kind of thing is subjective but are there any advantages over other packages that can clearly be demonstrated? I notice that the issue of water texture draw distance has been addressed by FE. Has it been successful? What about a screenshot that attemptds to show this?
May 12, 200521 yr Only one beta tester on this thread Anthony Vos and myself. We try to be polite and we are greatful for the feedback and comments.I'm sorry if you feel the comments are too postitive but from where I sit all I can say is thanks to the fantastic help provided by really switched on beta testers like Anthony who has the time and patience and willingness to give feedback to paying customers. But I see it as our duty to repond to customers and I am very pleased if the customers who paid for it are happy. So I say again to these customers thanks.Peter (FE Developer)
May 12, 200521 yr As I say again there is only one beta tester on this thread and he has disclosed himself.Nobody else here are beta testers and I'm sure they feel a little insulted to think they have been labled as such or presumed to be a beta tester when all they did was say they like a product? What is the lesson we are learning here. That when customers rave abot a product we as developers should say NOTHING, NOT EVEN THANKS!Peter (FE Developer)
May 12, 200521 yr I totally agree with the original posters comments here. Installation is straightforward/logical, and the quality of cloud and sky textures are(imho) quite stunning. I am more than happy with the water textures (although i have only had MS default, so cannot really compare).Interestingly like the first poster, my frames seem to have improved with FE which, is obviously important when the system is under demand (with add-on scenery, ai, add-on aircraft and the like!). I have not properly tested the frame rates under scrutiny, just that this is how it appears to me. Not sure about water texture draw distance problem (have not noticed anything myself).CheersDan:-beerchug
May 12, 200521 yr Hi folks, A degree of scepticism is understandable about any new product. We have all experienced the hype of eager sales and marketing organisations. Further, it is human nature to justify one's own decisions, so the plaudits of those who have decided to spend the money on a product have to be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, as one who has purchased FE after trying all sorts of water and sky textures, I have to say this is really excellent. I am not disappointed with it in any way and I don't think many would be.Bottom line: IMHO worth the money. Keep up the good work Peter!Cheers,N. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals

May 12, 200521 yr I fully agree with most of you here.I use FE together with ActiveSky 4.5 and I must say it is a fantastic combination.Never before I had the feeling like now, that the weather in FS9 is the same as in the outside real world... and the best thing is, that it also looks more or less the same.....I can only recommend this combination.Walter
May 12, 200521 yr Hi AllAfter reading all the positive comments about FE I would like to purchase the program.Could someone please point me to the site, so that I can spend some money LOL:)Tks. again.Kenny G.
May 12, 200521 yr Just our two cents here but I really enjoy FE because I don't have the time to tweak my environment as some do....Thanks to Peter and Team I now have a sweet environment without having to tweak from all the options that are available for free:-)Great job Peter! Keep up the good work:-)
