December 23, 201411 yr Hi, Just a heads up to advise that I have asked Beau in this thread for further clarification and/or an explanation for these seemingly interminable delays: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/topic/would-it-be-possible-to-get-an-update-on-the-sli-progress/ I would encourage all of you who are affected now, or might be in the future, to keep up the pressure. If we slacken off then this will likely be interpreted as being our indifference and consequently NVIDIA will keep this matter on the back burner. Merry Christmas! Mike
December 23, 201411 yr My belief is the ones using SLI are a very small group. I would prefer LM concentrate on other areas like performance, cloud rendering, AA quality and 64 bit. But of course, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. William

But of course, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.Hi William, My understanding is that LM's work is done where SLI implementation is concerned. All we are waiting for is a profile from NVIDIA to make it work properly and without impact on performance. What's your problem with cloud rendering? No real issues here and now that we have the updated cloud.fx file from LM it's well nigh perfect with improved coloration, without any vertical slivers or rotation and the restoration of the ability to fly through clouds without them being pushed aside. Last night I loaded Weather Theme ‘ORBX Weather 6′, used REX4 – Texture Direct (4.3.2014.1210) – Cloud Set 1 (HDR, Resolution 512, DXT 5) and flew for an hour in and out of the clouds over Langley - pretty close to perfection! Please everyone, let's not resurrect the 'NVIDIA have far greater priorities in the provision of support for games such as Goat Simulator' argument. That's now wearing a bit thin, don't you think! NVIDIA need to be encouraged to treat us with a little more respect. Mike
December 23, 201411 yr My belief is the ones using SLI are a very small group. I suspect this too, although I'm sure quite a few non-SLI'ers added their voice and provided feedback (LM have done all they can to this point, and the unofficial workaround is out there too). It would be great if LM were able to pull a rabbit out of a hat and optimize the building autogen (similar to vegetation)...
December 23, 201411 yr Moderator Mike - Have you tried this? http://www.widar.no/prepar3d/nVidiaSLIinP3D.pdf I did and it works however I don't like the AFR-Friendly setup as it breaks a few add-ons so I modified his settings and so far so good. The changes I made were - to use the Nvidia Recommended SLI profile (not AFR-Friendly) and I added 4sgss just to handle some shimmering in a specific panel. It's worth a try - at least as a starting point. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
December 23, 201411 yr I currently have a Radeon 7950. If there was an SLI profile for P3D2 I would replace it with 2x 970's. Thats just one reason why NVidia should create a properly optimised SLI profile... Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS

December 24, 201411 yr Vic, if you disable surround in the NV control panel you can choose the SLI option and set the sli Alternate Frame Rendering mode to 2. When turning on Surround those settings cannot be seen anymore, but they are working. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
December 24, 201411 yr Moderator My issue with AFR2 is mainly that you need to rename the P3D exe file. This breaks some add-ons like Aivlasoft EFB that look for the process name in order to connect. They are looking for Prepar3d.exe not AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe. Any add-on that uses the process name will fail. So far I've found no difference selecting NVidia Default but using the remaining settings from the profile posted. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
