Here it is Christmas.  I thought I would open this thread for those that are on here on Avsim for Christmas Eve, just to B&&shi**T about the holidays and what it all means.  Call it an open thread if you will.

You should try playing Rise of Flight online, in your state, Poppet.

Not a fan of Rise Of Flight.  I like DCS,  i got into siming late so with DCS on Steam it was an easy choice,  as well as that DCS has a little more class to it, a touch of panache if you like  B)

Don't try to land an A320 after about 5 gallons of Eggnog.. Needless to say, there's some bits of Aer Lingus A320 Landing Gear scattered over the runway @ Vienna.

If class and panaché are what you're looking for (or just a good, old fashioned furball), one can't come much closer than "Clobber College" from the venerable CFS.

Sure, it's old school... but it's a nice dose of old school ACM.

My friends and family all went away for the holidays.  When they all leave, the last thing I say to them is "remember to get me a barf bag from the airplane".  So I have a barf bag collection.  I only have Delta and SkyWest though.  Maybe this time around I will get Frontier. This is what Christmas is.  Also, Poppet and me are now BFF's, so the world is in balance now

PM Me your address. I can see if I can get you one from Air New Zealand

Worked today and tried to deliver this load....only to discover that the receiver was closed AND my appointment time was scheduled for tomorrow (originally scheduled for yesterday, but I wasn't going to make it). Would have been nice if somebody would have told me that sooner....

I feel a bit under the weather right now.  So that was Christmas.  Time to go back to work in the salt mines.  Santa didn't bring DCS Edge, so I'm not as happy as I could have been.  I completely reconfigured my computer last summer, thinking I would have FSX, ROF, DCS, and P3D on it.  Right now, I only have FSX and ROF and a bunch of empty space.

DCS is really really hard.  I normally use a yoke for FSX, but for the combat games I have a Thrustmaster hotas setup.  There are so many functions for the left hand on the Thrustmaster throttle that it is completely daunting, and I am going to have to learn everything over from the beginning.  Keeping it all straight between the A10, the Black Shark, and the P-51 creates an additional complication.

I've never played anything online before Rise of Flight.  I stuck with it, so I eventually got pretty good, at least able to hold my own in some of those swirling dogfights, but I forced myself to take a break from it, because it was so addictive.  So easy to waste away hours and hours and hours in that game.

I baked chocolate chip cookies and left them anonomously for the bachelorette next door as a Christmas gift.   She is the paranoid type and will probably throw them in the garbage.

I know I would!  :P

I wish the Australians and New Zealanders would weigh in, they are the only ones that seem to have any fun with flight simulation, those drunken ######s.

You talking about me? Last time we exchanged any correspondence was indeed this time of the year and I seem to recall that you were so rat faced you couldn't spell   . Anyhow Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Have you treated yourself to P3D yet? No, no, no ............ don't go there!

Merry Xmas Anz!   As far as the drunken (*&(&ards comment I meant it in the most endearing way possible, although I will admit that it sounded a lot funnier last night when I wrote it, full of Christmas cheer, then it does re-quoted back to me!  I think the moderators must have been in a relatively tolerant mood since it was Christmas

I'm still planning on getting P3D, but I keep putting it off and putting it off.

Good morning KingGhidorah,  Hope your head is not to sore

Let me cheer you up with a joke

What did Cinderella say when her photos did not show up?

Someday my prints will come!

No, Poppet, I'm one of those whose Christmas revelries are strictly limited to Christmas Eve itself.  When I wake up on Christmas morning, I pretty much consider the Holidays over, and back to business as usual.  So yesterday was a typical boring day, with the typical chores, as is today.   No imbibing or anything like that!
