December 25, 201411 yr Here it is Christmas. I thought I would open this thread for those that are on here on Avsim for Christmas Eve, just to B&&shi**T about the holidays and what it all means. Call it an open thread if you will. Some people are enjoying the holidays with friends and families, some people are not, and I just thought I would open a thread for those that aren't

December 25, 201411 yr Author The problem with flight simmers is that they are all too serious. Just need to hang back and remember that time when they were a little kid and heard that #2 engine of the 727 starting up, when they were sitting in the last row, and remember the pretty stewardess asking dad if he wanted a deck of cards or a bloody mary, and you could, as a little kid, sit in any seat you wanted on the big jet airliner. These are the things that come to mind on this day of year. I wish the Australians and New Zealanders would weigh in, they are the only ones that seem to have any fun with flight simulation, those drunken ######s.
December 25, 201411 yr Author I baked chocolate chip cookies and left them anonomously for the bachelorette next door as a Christmas gift. She is the paranoid type and will probably throw them in the garbage.
December 25, 201411 yr Merry Christmas, everyone. It's now 1:00 am, and I think I'd better go to bed or Santa won't come to my house. Best wishes for the holiday season regardless of what you're celebrating! Joel Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)
December 25, 201411 yr Moderator Happy Holidays to everyone here @ AVSIM! Enjoy the day, and be safe! Alan
December 25, 201411 yr Well Christmas arrived! My lovely wife knocked me for six with her present, I knew she was looking for a storage cabinet for all my FSX CDs. I unwrapped this: Its a metal locker from Air Atlanta, I think for storing meals. Fab!!! - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/
December 25, 201411 yr I wish the Australians and New Zealanders would weigh in, they are the only ones that seem to have any fun with flight simulation, those drunken ######s. Normally I would be drinking and having a grand ole time however my wife is extremely pregnant and the baby could come any minute.....so I need to be ready to drive her to the hospital. So this is how we are spending Christmas this year, waiting for the baby to come, any time now Oh yes and I did manage to get a few flights in because I get a feeling I won't have much time for Flight Sim anymore, also I have a theory that the grey noise from the PMDG NGX Engines may help the baby sleep, I will test that theory as well B) Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
December 25, 201411 yr Author Wow, ytzpilot, that is something special indeed. I hope all goes well for you. Just make sure that your new kid's first words are da da or ma ma, and not V1, Rotate!
December 25, 201411 yr Normally I would be drinking and having a grand ole time however my wife is extremely pregnant and the baby could come any minute That really cool, all the best for the future:)
December 25, 201411 yr Thanks guys B) Just make sure that your new kid's first words are da da or ma ma, and not V1, Rotate! Well you never know.....The baby is not even born yet and already she has been on 18 commercial flights. She has flown from Wellington, New Zealand to LA to Chicago and Toronto and Vancouver as well as over to Australia (and around New Zealand), so we might have an aviator in the making. She will have her first flight outside the womb in March on a tour around New Zealand and again in October we will take her back to Chicago and Toronto. That is a lot of flying for a little baby Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
December 25, 201411 yr Author My friends and family all went away for the holidays. When they all leave, the last thing I say to them is "remember to get me a barf bag from the airplane". So I have a barf bag collection. I only have Delta and SkyWest though. Maybe this time around I will get Frontier. This is what Christmas is. Also, Poppet and me are now BFF's, so the world is in balance now
