Real Air 260 update?

Featured Replies

What happened to the update to the Real Air SIAI Marchetti 260. Last I heard it was 'days away' but that was weeks ago. Did I miss it?Cheers,Gareth Evans

Hi Gareth,We have been delayed by all sorts of things, but we are in the final stages of testing the update now, and it has proved to be a lot more complex than we at first thought. We are testing it thoroughly and each new tweak is sent out to the Beta testers for a top to bottom assessment. We are very close to release now. Thanks for your interest.Kind Regards,Rob Young www.realairsimulations.com

Ah, thanks Rob. I'm really looking forward to this. The 260 is one of my all time favourite FS aircraft. Thanks for your extremely swift reply!

As am I. I think the 260 may be the best small aircraft, if not the best aircraft of any size, ever done for any version of MSFS. It's the only propeller aircraft I still use and I fly it every day. I can't wait for the update.Doug

does anyone know what changes are supposed to be implemented in the update by chance?i didnt even know there was going to be an update, lol...this plane was always one of my fav's to take off and land with...its always had a superb "feeling" of flying through air.Dave Kalin

The virtual cockpit is being redone to provide smoother gauge update rates, plus some more...www.realairsimulations.comI'm waiting as well... the Marchetti is also one of my very favorite aircraft!

THE BEST of THE BEST. I concur!!!JoseCFI, CFII

If you haven't tried RealAir's SPitfire, believe me you will be blown away by the new VC. I think folks who haven't flown the Spit think all of us who have and who keep talking about how great the VC is are just blowing smoke or something. We aren't. The guages in the Spitfire VC are smooth like butter and the overall framerates are basically the same as I get in most of the defualt FS9 planes 2D panels. Throw in the stall buffeting and head latency effects and man, I just can't wait! :)

My two favorite airplanes are:SF 260SpitfireThe two planes are a work of art. They received 5 stars from every single review I've read. They are worth every penny...Jose

Well don't have the Spit and probably won't buy it (I find it hard to imagine how I would be able to afford one in my virtual FS "life"...somewhere between the SF260, Seneca V and A36 I ran out of virtual money :-lol) but the SF260 is great. It's so fun because it can cruise long distance like any high-performance single engine plane and when you get bored you can do a couple of spins, loops or such :) But yeah the main problem with the older RealAir planes is the VC - it's very sharp and detailed but the gauge refreshrate reminds me of FS2 on the C64 :-lol

Actually, I've always found the guages in the 260 VC to be pretty smooth. But no doubt about it, they're going to get better. :D
