FSX Steam Edition Update

Recommended Posts

FSUIPC 4.938c is working with the updated FSX-SE (as well as the earlier one). It's available now. FSUIPC 4.938b won't work properly and may even crash FSX-SE after the update.

Pete

Thanks Pete

FSAddon manager needs update. Everything else is working perfectly. Even the SDK, i think it´s complete now.

Here is a list with the files updated: http://steamcommunity.com/app/314160/discussions/1/622954302093637525/#c622954302093640040

Got a SimConnect installation prompt during the first start after the update? Anyone else?

Most .dll and .exe files in the root folder have new build dates and there were some .dll files added to the SDK folders.

- Edit:

The claimed 10% performance gain doesn't seem to be too unreasonable. Gained 1-2 FPS in my JFK test scenario.

Let's hope theupdate also does something about the g3d crash.

Yes, installed a new simconnect here too: 10.0.62608.0

A list of changed files can be seen in here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/314160/discussions/1/622954302093637525/#c622954302093640040

The SDK appears to be complete now.

Oh, and don't worry about your config files, people. My dll.xml, exe.xml and fsx.cfg were not changed by the update!

ASN and Object Flow.dlls don´t work (But I am not using the new exes). PMDG MD-11 does.

Aristoteles,

Have you experienced any PMDGload.dll crashes with the MD-11?

Folks over on steam are reporting that their dll.xml and exe.xml are being overwritten. Even though the original install didn't contain these files, as I installed add-ons, one of them created the files that were missing from the FSX:SE install.......so be sure to back these up if they already exist.

I've found that since the update, my Saitek Cessna trim wheel no longer acts like an axis in the sim - it's more like a series of button presses, but with a seemingly random sequence. I can trim just fine if I assign the trim operation to yoke buttons. I have the trim wheel calibrated via FSUIPC (now using 4.938c), and the action seems perfectly smooth in the FSUIPC calibration page. I have the problem with all aircraft, both default and add-on. The trim wheel worked normally before the update, and it still works correctly in boxed FSX and in X-Plane. Can any trim wheel user confirm that theirs is working normally in FSX-SE?

I just discovered that the VistaMareCore.dll does not load after the new Steam FSX update. It did work in pre-update FSX-SE.

This DLL is used to provide animated ground traffic at some Aerosoft airports. There is no error message when FSX-SE loads, but I did find an error log in the FSX\Vistamare folder which says "Wrong FSX version".

I'll post a note on the Aerosoft forum, though they are probably already aware of the problem.
