Woohoo! The SF260 update is out!!

Featured Replies

I have the upgraded 2005 SF260 and all is well except for one thing. The landing light shows on the a/c but nothing on the runway. Has anyone else noticed this? Have communicated with Rob and he says no one has reported this as yet. Have hardware sliders maxed, tried a new fs9.cfg and same results. All other a/c show lights on runway. Same video drivers, no third party etc. Not complaining just asking if anyone else has noticed this. Thanks..

Hi Cliff,Yes this is odd. It did happen to me once when I downloaded a third party "spotlight.bmp". Is it possible that you had an old spotlight bmp in there which wasn't standard. Oh and as well as hardware lighting slider to max, you might need the special effects slider also maxed.I'll let you know if we find a solution.Kind Rgeards,Rob Young

Rob & ALL - Solution found. It is a program called "FS Sky World". I replaced their spotlight.bmp with the original found in FS9 Texture and all is well now. I did not think (truly) that I had any third party spotlight.bmp files but I did. This program has a number of replacement modes for lights. They work with some a/c and not with others. My apologies for not pursuing this further early on but maybe someone else will come up with the same problem.

I got the upgrade version, and it's great. The Garmin XP doesn't show up (I get the default handheld GPS). Is that a separate upgrade, or only part of a new purchase? I love the SF260. BTW there is a real-world livery of a SF260, yellow ripping off the leading edges of the wings and nose to reveal a racing checkboard underneath. It was published in an aviation magazine some years ago. I'll try to find and post the photos; perhaps some talented individual would be interested in re-creating this really incredibly sexy paint job for the airplane!

The Garmin XP is a retrofit... and only works if you own the Reality XP GNS530XP gauge.www.reality-xp.com

Yes we discovered that landing light problem during testing didn't we Rob, I had the same problem and also FS Sky World installed although then we didn't realise it was that program that had swapped the spotlight.bmp! You live and learn!CheersTimhttp://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif

Here is the livery I spoke about earlier. Written up by Steve Whitson, Custom Planes, January 2001. Maybe some talented, intereste artist can create this livery.Oooh yow. That's just hot.
