February 1, 201511 yr Buried in this thread seems to be a very important subject for flight simmers to be aware of and grasp. That said, me being such a neophyte to most of this; correct me if I haven't grasped the brunt of the last two thirds of this thread. Beginning on page 4, the subject was introduced as to the POLITICS of what dovetail may be up to in their releasing FSX:Steam. If I am wrong about this, please forgive and correct me, as my eyes glossed over on the last five thread pages. It sounds like DTG is using the release of Steam to bring enough changes (improved VAS usage and increased smoothness, etc.) to enhance a lot of us to switch from box to Steam FSX. I inferred their real objective may be to build up an audience, so that when they release their new flight simulator, we will want to switch from FSX or FSX:Steam to the new product. Sounds like there is concern amongst some developers that DTG will (or may) take a very big chunk out of their profits for marketing add-on's on Steam? Question: If DTG does release a new Steam Simulator, and it really catches on, can existing developers continue to market their add-ons independently? Or will there be some type of physical or other hooks to force developers either to take the reduced profits of DLC or not to support the new product? Do I understand the main gist of this, or am I way off base?
