No Passengers in FMC

Featured Replies

I have the PMDG 777 for the FSX -SE. When I started it up and went into the FMC/Payload screen I noticed there was no passengers to change only cargo.(Main DK Cargo,Fwd Cargo,Aft Cargo and Bulk Cargo.)

Is this something new in their FMC layout?

I have the PMDG777 in FSX-SE and the FMC has no issues displaying PayloadPMDG777FMC.jpg

Sounds like you have the 777F loaded in FSX. It's FMC has only cargo. If you want to see passengers in the FMC you need to load the 77LR or the 300ER.

Very good point, Michael. Did not take that into consideration. I just assumed it was a pax model.

Ok Great. Thank you

That was fun to read actually!

Probably the main reason for "no PAX selectable in T7F" is because of the low level of comfort in the cargo bays for paying travellers. A different story with blind passengers though...

Comfort level doesn't mean much to the military, so mannnny hours in the back of a C-130 in web seating, cold, loud, vibration, a funnel to ###### in and a bucket for #2. Oh wait, you said paying travellers okay that's the catch then.

Not to mention the deafening roar of the C-130's engines that I flew in whilst in the RAF.

During my mltry service (25 years ago) I once made a trip from northern Germany to Creta (Greece) with a C-160 (Transall) via Rome (due to range limits). Those PAX in the front where sitting there with T-Shirts sweating and those in the back where freezing in all their complete clothing. In the front temps close to 30 DEG C and in the back below freezing...

I remember when we unloaded our camera equipment - which was stowed on a pallet fastened on the inner side of the aft ramp door - the stuff and its fragile content was so cold that it took hours to acclimatize...

The good thing about Creta though was that with sunny 30 DEC C we had a nice stay there... B)

Edit and BTW: I hope that nowadays the Airbus A400M has a better air conditioning...

You are not that old...! Are you really? Your avatar pic had me fooled.

DMV (Deutsche Militärische Vertreter - it actually says "GMR" on the building, using the abbreviation of the English version) keeps one here at IAD every once in a while. I have no idea where they fly it when it isn't here at IAD, but my bet is that they aren't flying it all the way back to Germany too often.

My avatar is from the day I bought my Nvidia 3d vision goggles in March 2013. There I was 44 years old. Today I am 45 years and tomorrow I will be 46 as this is my birthday

During my Creta trip in 1989 I was just 20 years old...

That trip would be no good idea anyway, at least for those in the PAX/cargo area. I think over the pond nobody will survive "hyperthermia" or "hypothermia" respectively. (< just kidding (a bit))

Maybe a trip with the A400M will be more comfortable, as there is also no need to swim, as long as air-to-air refueling works as promised...
